"Well if there are any brutes left they are hiding behind or in buildings or are trapped under piles of horde."
One of the senior scouts speaks up,"if most or all the brutes are gone the horde should be slightly more calm and skidish, without a leader they are docile and easily scared. Or at least more docile than with a brute, remember the ones from the north east section, they didn't attack until we got really close or they greatly out numbered us. Shouldn't take more than a couple explosions to scare off the majority of the horde"

everyone prepares for an assualt and several explosives are set up to go when the charge starts.
most have armed themselves with melee weapons and sidearms

The charges are triggered and several improvised mortars go off in the horde.
Everone begins pouring out of the windows and into the piles of dead and living horde
blood and gore begins flying every where and much of the horde is running away from the explosions

as the smoke clears and the blood settles few casualties are counted
the scouts have begun clean up and your teams are on the defense
your guard is the only one permitted to leave, one by them wanting to stay and help the clean up and defense from horde raids and two the commanders there begged for them to stay
you take two transports back and are greeted by many many sanctuary families cheering you on, the news had obviously been relayed back to the people.
Several generals, including the ones of the scouts, are also there to meet you at the gates

"Just figured you would like a city to get troops from and not need to move every other month. It used to be a bad problem for the scouts. I made sure you've got prime realestate out there, large chunk of the woods, but storage facility, proper training grounds, and a barracks. Hope you like being king of Requiem for awhile" he says the last sentence with a booming chuckle
