Wow, being the only mortal in a world of immortals would be a depressing premise for a story.

...it's probably bad that the first thing I thought of was the Vocaloid song with that exact premise.

I'd rather keep my distance from sims 4 for now because of it's obvious incomplete statues.
basically i'd rather wait for few more patches or in their words "Awesome expansion for only 49.99$!".

While the expanded nature of interaction is interesting, since the game has reduced the amount of customisation options for objects, personally I will not be getting "The Sims 4" unless that changes. Most of the fun I've had in "The Sims 3" was from modelling houses and characters from other games and settings, the social and job parts being secondary to that.

Oddly enough the HARDEST thing I've tried to do in the game SO FAR was create a roof.

Are the NPCs immortal ? Ok, my interest in the game just dropped like a rock, I hoped they would develop the world instead of the opposite.

I heard they weren't. Unless you turn the option of.

However, unless you're directly interacting with them, aging is the only thing they do.

Yep meaning unless you personally restock the world... it can very much end up empty.

I always thought that building a procedural, dynamic, expansive and compelling gameworld was the way to go for the series, instead they focus on... on what exactly, what did they do ? At this rate it would be better to start developing a 'sims' mod for DF.

I believe the biggest improvement to the series is a much more complex "socialisation" mechanic. Sims can talk to multiple people in the same room while doing different things. It's not a choice between talking or, say, making dinner. You can also change the walk cycle of a person.

It'll be interesting to see how they use this different focus when it comes to the expansions.

If they are planning an 'omg proper neighborhood' expansion then it's fine.

Uhh when you see it in action its "complexity" as you will find isn't as great as you might think... >_>

Think of it like Sims have a sort of social aura.

Well, sure. Complexity in the Sims context. "Blah blah blah blah, rainbows. Blah blah blah, umbrella, dogfood, TV, blah blah. Scathing insult. Engage punching mode."

Hmm... I wonder if it would be possible to make a Sim think there's other people around them so they have conversations with nothing. I foresee a bug where this happens because a room wasn't closed off properly, so a Sim is talking to people who pass by the house 30 meters away.

That seems to be the only thing The Sims 4 has going for it.

Yeah, it genuinely seems like an improvement, but in a very much 'one step forward, two steps back' kinda way.

Based on last night and some more this morning I'm really enjoying the game. Yes I do miss the open world of S3 and the CAS features they took out but the games still good despite that. The multitasking was a revelation when it finally clicked. I was struggling to meet all my little guys needs to get that next promotion but there was just never enough hours in the day. Then well he was eating I told him to go watch TV next... and he got up with his food and brought it over to the TV. *Tiny ray of light* * Small choir* I like the new social interaction and the world, small sections that there are, feel more alive then the town in 3 did so that's nice. Base game to Base game I think this hold up so far, but I do have to see if I'll tire of it faster. With the inevitable expansions, assuming EA makes them worthwhile and not just DLC packs, I think this will be a solid addition to the series.
Oh and it runs well, Very well.
