Normally it wouldn't be worth saying that EA is milking The Sims 4 like it was a golden cow...

Except that it might interfere with possible expansions.

Another question since Google search is once again fruitless.

Can Plumbots become celebrities? Doesn't appear to be happening.

So EA has already started the heavy milking of The Sims 4 and is now doing sort of micro-expansions (of rip-offish levels)
You meant he $20 game pack expansion thing that is probably gonna get dumped down to $10 soon? Since thats what they have done with just about every other expansion/stuff pack, as shown by a sibling buying EVERY expansion and almost every stuff pack they have ever dumped out...
Also, whats with all the Sims3 talk here?

The Sims 3 thread has been dead for years.

I'll stop harassing everyone here if necroing it is the lesser of the two evils.

There isn't a lot of discussion

Yes Plumbots to my knowledge can become celebrities.

You never EVER want anyone to become a celebrity...

Apparently, the only good thing about the Sims 4, from what I read in this thread, is that it means the Sims 3 will be on sale!

Eh. I like Sims 4, (Multitasking is amazing) but it seems really barebones compared to Sims3+expansions.

You should really look to the wilderness for your stealth ideas, it has been doing it much longer than you have after all. Take squids for example, that ink trick works pretty well, and in water too! So you just sneak into the dam upsteam, dump several megatons of distressed squid into it, then break the dam. Boom, you suddenly have enough water-proof stealth for a whole city!

Guess not.

It's just if I had my Sims as active as my Plumbots in this run then they would almost certainly end up becoming a celebrity.

I don't suppose there's a way to turn of descendants notifications? My Plumbot married someone and suddenly I'm getting notifications for tiny rubbish that shouldn't change anything (selling decor for $50 anyone?)

Guess what?
They announced the first expansion today.

Appears to be more or less Ambitions V2, with the same jobs, too!
The gameplay shown in the trailer seem to show much better professions than in ambitions, but they didn't mention a firefighter profession, which was my favorite.
The trailer also advertised creating your own business, and from the small amount of gameplay in that section, looks like Sims 2 Open For Business! YEEEEEEEE

EDIT: Just noticed this link to the actual announcement. They're also apparently adding aliens as well as a myriad of new skills, such as Baking and Photography skills. The doctor profession is also definitely much more fleshed out than the stuff Ambitions did.

Nope. First expansion pack.
Camping was a Game Pack, which is totally different from an expansion pack. A game pack is a replacement of the Stuff Packs from Sims 2/3.

I remember reading somewhere where they called it an expansion, but that might just be my faulty memory.

Look at best we could call the main expansions "Big Box expansions" or the smaller ones "add-ons" but either way they both qualify as expansions.

Anyhow the new expansion's content would sure be great if it was The Sims 3 still and there was an open neighborhood... I know many people don't have experience with the game but leaving your sims alone to take care of themselves tends to backfire... a tiny bit.
