Urgh, this looks bad, and I rather enjoyed the first KUF. The whole F2P MMO thing is getting seriously tiresome, and that leadership system sounds atrocious - especially as I'm imagining it's a set up for micro-transactions.

I really feel like if they hadn't got the awful art (which is only acceptable in MMOs) this would have made a really decent single player game which could have sold well (like the first one!), but turning everything into an MMO is just really, really annoying.

With enough work and polish, it could have been a forgettable flash game on Kongregate.

Yeah, I mean I really think they are deterring more people than dragging in with their "tits in your face" marketing strategy.
I wish. :P

Me miserable! which way shall I fly
Infinite wrath, and infinite despair?
Which way I fly is Hell; myself am Hell;
And, in the lowest deep, a lower deep
Still threatening to devour me opens wide,
To which the Hell I suffer seems a Heaven.

There's a lot of sexism in south korea and this game series has always had an extra dose, if the elf tits bother you just wait until you hear the things the human female NPC's spout.

If you're willing to look past that and the half-MMOfication, you'll find fun, challenging and enjoyable gameplay. The fatigue system only gets in the way of really long play sessions and having 2 or 3 characters will let you keep playing longer than you healthily should without problems.

Fair enough, I'l actually try it. How did you manage to get a working copy and bypass the location stuff?

I think I'll give this one a go when it's out. KUF1 was great fun for it's time. If the fatigue system lets you reliably play for a couple of hours, then that's more than enough for me.

I actually looked into this a while ago, and the graphics "feel" looks like it's changed a bit over the years. Not the chainmail bikinis, it just seemed to be more dark ages/gothic looking before, now it seems more light and showy.

Should be fun for at least a while anyway.

You can get the game and create an account here http://kuf2.mmog.asia/#download Some of the download links will tell you you're in the wrong region, but at least one of them should work for you still.

Registration forces you to link some other thing to it, just don't pick hotmail unless you want to use a throwaway account, also your username for the game will probably be weird. Having linked my mostly unused facebook account to it, it decided my username would be "facebook-100000652183810" easy to remember, right? -_-

You can see your username here http://www.mmog.asia/user

Now, to get past the game's region restriction. Only the patcher cares about it, so you can use Proxifier to create a proxy just for the patcher and the game itself will run through your connection. Here is a link to a guide for setting up proxifier for KUF2, it's super simple https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rzi1DirkZ-o  instead of the address and port the guy uses, use this one I found:

address: 27.131.47.131
port: 8080

This proxy allowed me to patch at 10mb/s

The game is voiced in english, the quest text was translated to retardese, but still somewhat understandable, but talent/skill/spell description is where you'll have to scratch your head and figure stuff out because sometimes descriptions for combos and such mention the wrong skill name. Some mechanics or special combos some classes have aren't even mentioned anywhere, I had to basically stumble upon it, but I'll let you know about those once I write some class guides.

If anyone else does end up giving it a try, let me know.

Chainmail bikini's are so last season. Any self respecting warrior male or female wear chaimail thongs.
One of these days, a game is actually going to put a guy into a chainmail thong, right down to the arse hairs getting stuck in the links.

I will cheer, that day.

Also, there'll be an entire plotline revolving around the quest for magial nair. The trigger is to wear a chainmail thong, which is immediately cursed and will grant minor penalties until the quest is compete.
Fund this.  Fund this now, and fund this forever.

Better still... once you comp-lete the quest your guy turns into a hot female while the uncursed throng becomes the best item in the game much to your characters annoyance.

Let's see how this goes. I assume "KUF 1" was the RPG-sprinkled RTS  with a campaign about reviving the old human elf dwarf alliance?  Cause that was nice. I know there was another KUF that was not an RTS.

So in this game do I switch from camera behind shoulder to top down camera for the RTS bits? Or is it somehow seamless? Does it feel like 2 separate games?

In large battles, you press a key and the camera zooms way out for you to give orders. In some way it is 2 separate games because there are sections of the game that have you running around without your army playing the game like a traditional action mmo until you get a quest for the next battle.
