StarDwarves!
EditL Screw it, I'm going to be on KerDwarven Space Fortress if anyone needs me.
What is that?
Kerbal space program, which is quite Dwarven because of the ill thought out mega constructions, random risk of catastrophic failure and explosions, and the stature of Kerbals themself.
It makes mine hotter than the fires of hell and damnation. 97 degrees? seriously wtf Jebediah?
I had to use MSI afterburner to throttle down my GPU by 40%.
Please tell me that's in Fuhrerheit.
It is if your Fuhrer's name is Napoleon.
All Hail Fuhrer Napoleon Dynamite! Heh.

In all seriousness, I'd be fine with either of the top two options if I could get on- too bad there isn't a way to combine the two, but they're mutually exclusive unfortunately.

Try logging in and seeing if our fort has been griefed to hell yet?

EDIT: Just did, we're still intact. The people on the server seem to have entirely changed, I don't recognize a single name.

Kinda- they're looking at finding a new server to play on, I think due too an inevitable update/restart of the current server. Actually, what does it take to host your own server?

A good* Internet connection or some funds. Possibly a little computer know-how.

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

A Bay12-hosted server wouldn't qualify for Dwarven Stronghold. The idea is that we set up a base on a public server with an established userbase.

Well, that's my opinion. Generally, Bay12-hosted servers get their own threads; I see no reason why yours would be different.

Does anyone want to weigh in on this?

I'd rather keep embarking on public servers, though I'd much rather it be chaos rather than organized. Or at least less organized than Civcraft. You either ignore the politics there or you burn your hands on it, and that's not an experience I'm keen on repeating.

If we can find another large world to colonize and explore, that would be cool.

Since the general consensus seems to be moving to another server I'm going to help myself to everyones stuff secure all the valuables in sparkgear. Just in case anyone decides to pop in and wonders what happened, I'm moving the storeroom to a hidden location underground then burying it in stone.

You should keep a record of what everyone had, just in case somebody logs on someday.

I really should, However seeing the condition of people's rooms I really wouldn't bother, It looks like we were raided 2 days ago.
I'm finding so many unlocked chests It's depressing. Also someone left unlocked chests inside their room, but locked their door. FYI you can quickly open the chest before the door slams shut and take all the gear :s

If we move to a new server, it'll be mentioned in the thread.
