Level 30 at the higest? So that's all the iron/coal/gold/diamond gone, but that's ok theres still infinite cobble which is all a dwarf needs.

I thought iron generated to slightly above water level.

Right, there's definitely that. I'll also start a deep mine and see what I can find.

I'm thinking underground canals is the way to go. Speaking of which, when I dug that tunnel, I was hoping to have the harbor and docks and stuff indoors. I know we could have both, but I think we should leave the bay open as much as possible. If we built a giant statue, it would stand out more that way.

I take it this is a non-pvp server?

It is a PVP server, but with massive alliances.

It's PVP but with effective systems in place to protect your builds. Basically Player-Vs-Politics is how i would describe the server.

I was thinking of having a small harbor town around the entrance.  I, personally, have expanded as far as I have wanted out into the water.  At this point it is: Build a few houses, a town hall, a theatre, and a small temple.  That way, when we bring them in, our massive underground constructions would be an unexpected blow, since the town would give off a different atmosphere that changes their expectations.  Try and get them under the impression that we like to defy expectations.

I think I'll be watching this, it seems very interesting and I wouldn't mind a reason to return to minecraft again.
Also it would be cool if there would be big panic rooms everywhere activated by secret switches.

I like the idea of a derpy little village hiding our actual living space. Maybe the entrance to the real city could be hidden inside of a little hut full of cobble, seeds, and dirt chests that people not in the know would write of as a dead end full of garbage.

NW has a rail line heading south that's about 500 meters west of the landing. Nw has discovered a private line owned by someone I know. I'll make a temp rail link to the rest of the world. I'll ask him if we can use it.
But we need a massive impressive station built around a natural cave or something near where we want the main city.

How about we have a lake-town across the mouth of the bay?

I like the sound of a derpy little lake town filled with garbage. We'll call it Lakeshire.

Also, Elephant Parade, are you going to put up a poll for the constitution or are we just not bothering with that?
