Physics does not work that way, Kj. The rock isn't moving due to magic when it touches the field. It's moving due to the momentum/velocity from the spell. The difference between the two is huge.

Why, though? What's to stop them from ending the magic just before the field and letting the boulder go forwards with the speed it's already at? What does it being caused by magic have to do with anything? The boulder is still moving, and I don't really see why removing the cause of that movement would stop it. Sure, it might slow down, but that's going to be the same as if you strapped a rocket to the back of it and then the rocket ran out of juice. It's gonna start to slow down, but it's still gonna keep moving.

It just seems silly to me.
I mean, I totally get how it would make a game unfair.
But it's still silly.

But if you don't realize what's going on...
