Blood Opal goes back to the man's place, and explores its suitability as a hideout by taking note of its resources, location, and defendability. She then gives him his reward, if he has chosen, keeping her shotgun within reach on the off chance he wants to take more than she has offered.

How about I buy you drink, and we solve this talking, no fighting.

Try to deal with the man diplomatically by offering to buy him a drink. See why he dislikes my people, and if I can change that/recruit him. Afterward, go and talk to the sheriff about work around here upholding justice.

"Eh! Padre, are you even listening to me?!"

I watch as the kids run past me and give them a small knowing smile.

"So are you interested in some of my Desert Paradise for a loaded six-shooter?"

"Need some help with this bussiness? I'm good with bussiness amigo, we could start an asociación."

(I'm imagining Father Gregor as a bald guy with a goatee for some reason.)

Father Gregor looks at the newcomer. He has been waiting awhile for some opium.

"Ah, sorry my child. I was lost in thought. Of course I would love some, and a six-shooter is but a tool God has given for everyone to use."

Give six-shooter in exchange for Desert Paradise.

"You want business, you say? Alright then. First order of business is to show the thieves the light of their actions." Father Gregor loads his repeater and pulls out some matches. "Hell hath no fury like Big Poppa scorned, bitches."

"I understand, sir. I shall endeavor to obtain assets via other means, then. I am glad that you are not opposed to the idea, at any rate."

Go help in the building of the Tailor Shop, hopefully attract other builders through presence and appropriate agitation!

Give Father Gregor 3 opium doses, take the revolver.

"Well then, Padre, it's a good thing we bumped into eachother. Lets talk bussiness after we deal with those Ladrónes."

Help Father Gregor with catching the thieves, either with words or force, try not to get shot.

"Get over here Hombres, and give back what you stole before it gets nasty! It's better to live a poor life then to get killed over a fistfull of dólar!"

Clay ambles up, joining the crowd of onlookers and letting out a low whistle as he sees the fresh-made corpse.
"Sheeit, one right through the brain-pan, huh?" He says in a low, rough voice before letting out a harsh chuckle. "Who done for the poor sumbitch?" Standing to one side of the street, thumb hooked casually through his belt, he glances idly about to see if anyone feels like answering him- or if there's any more trouble going on in town that he can see.

Politely enquire about the dead fellow. Ask who killed him.
What else can I see going on in town? Seems like I arrived in turbulent times.

If my hands are behind my back

sneak out the back door and grind the knot against a rock until it breaks

If there in front of me

use my teeth feet and other things to undo the knot

(it's expensive rope I don't want to break it if I don't have to)

Will you be aiding Josse in the pursuit of the youths after you burn their houses down? Or will you have him chase them solo?

Are my hands behind my back or in front?

Your front.
