You open your eyes, shooting your glance up at girl who's talking to you with a concerned look on her face. You look back down and find that you have fallen asleep on your desk while reading.


Oh, you remember now. It's your friend Lydia, a girl who lives next door from you in Bastion city, a stone city carved into a mountain.



Lydia, like you, is an invoker. An invoker is a person who can manipulate the magical aspects of nature using arcane means. She always seems to be worried about something, but is actually a really nice girl.

You let out a tired yawn as you glance at Lydia. She adjusts her glasses and continues;

Lydia was always the clumsy one. An Arcane Extractor is a device used to destroy objects and draw the essentia from them. For example, destroying a lump of coal may yield ignis and potentia, which you can use to summon, artifice, and cast spells. The things are really expensive, so she better hope that you can fix it.
