The amount of outrage caused by people walking on some hill in the desert.

Was it a sacred place? Because yeah, that tends to upset people.

I finally got a spam call that 1) wasn't blocked by my filter, 2) was a real person and 3) I was ready for them. I read them the first paragraph of On Liberty. Thankfully, they were cool about it and said "Okay, you win" before chuckling and hanging up.

I dont care for the other gags that distract from the actual gag, but the video itself is great. , its visually uninteresting after the first 30 seconds, but a great listen.

Blizzard controversy aside, I love how the Overwatch for Switch trailer implies that you would be able to play and have any kind of fun on airport or coffee shop wifi. Fool I could barely play with the wifi router literally sitting on top of the console, how am I going to play on a network that can barely load its own connection prompt

I liked the idea of trying to make Mickey mouse an anti-communist/fascist symbol. Force China to ban it, and all the tourism to Disneyland, or accept a symbol of government opposition and critique (how horrifying!) God that would be fun watching them squirm if I could

Customer asked me to find a muffler bearing for his diesel. Of course this makes no fucking sense but I figured it's an archaic term for like the aftmost u-joint or axle bearing or something on the vehicle. No, apparently it's just a joke for mechanics to pick on the new guy.

I remember these. There was no youtube then. This was literally how you got videos of trains, unless you were renting them from the library.

Around the 30-second mark, "Kids love 'em too!" scrolls across the screen.

Who was buying these?

No really. This was normal. This one is just particularly memorable.

We had these things called commercials, and you had to watch them during your TV shows. Smartphones weren't a thing, and the internet was largely still through your phone lines. Google was this thing noone thought would catch on.

This was how you found out about stuff you maybe wanted to buy. If it was 1998 I'd be like oh, my little boy loves watching videos about trains, I'll order this since we already watched a few from the local library.

I knew a dude who was completely obsessed with planes. If there was a Planes! Planes! Planes! video, he would've hopped at the chance to purchase a few copies.

This guy once held a presentation for the entire school which was just a video on YouTube about planes. Specifically, "compilation of planes landing with strong crosswind".

It's something like 20 minutes long. No narration. Just planes. And a few pixels.
