Oops, I had figured cbc.ca was a legit source, I was not aware of how to tell when Canadians are being satirical.

There's another one Y2K coming for every 32bit system in january 2038, when all clocks will travel back in time to 1970. Or 1901 depending on how antiquated they are.

They will roll back to 1970. Y2K would have already happened for any that use 1901 as their 0 point.

That would be correct if the system used absolute value(unsigned), but the overflow will result in a shift in the first bit of the variable, so if it is a signed 32-bit int the sign bit becomes 1 and the whole thing goes negative, instead of just zeroed. An unsigned int could go way further, but would not support values before 1970, and if you set and unsigned int to start at 1901 it is a pain to have to translate it to the customary unix epoch every time you need to interact with something.

They could switch Unix systems to all using 64-bit signed integers with zero at 1970, and hopefully that will be backwards compatible.

But that would just be passing the buck to future generations, and they will have to keep an eye out for the year 292,275,026,042 Bug, when dates will flip around to circa 292,275,022,102 BC

Okay seriously, this dude is one of my new favourite channels on Youtube.
I've been bingeing a bunch of his LPs but right now I'm watching his Founder's Fortune video and, well, I don't want to spoil anything, but there's a certain point in there where... well, the whole thing is funny, but this just about killed me, considering I have this nasty cough and could barely breathe to begin with. Good grief. I am in tears.

I dunno what it is about this guy, he makes fun of the mechanics and design of the games he plays without being too blunt about it, he has a wonderfully stupid sense of humour and he does pretty much everything wrong - but somehow survives long enough to eke out a full episode's worth of comedy from whatever he's playing. Noice.

It looks a lot like beta testing: doing stupid things you shouldn't to try to break things. Like creating 500 million fire fighters.

Edit: Can I get a "just not be helpful, to anybody, really" sign for my cubicle?

This is the most hilarious parody of Jo'burg broe culture I've ever seen. I have no idea if it's as funny to a non-South African, but it had me chuckling, boet.

Tangentially related, the best in bro-related entertainment is !!!BROFORCE!!!.

The primary antagonists are Terrorists, Alien, and Actual Satan. The primary protagonists are Rambo, B. A. Baracus, and John Matrix from Commando.

Broforce is also by a South African studio. If there's anything we're good at, it's bros, bro.

So Fortnite Season 10 ended with the game being literally sucked into a black hole. Now, usually after a big event the new season starts up almost immediately with the new map and everything. In this case tho, everything related to the game is either gone or a black hole screen. And people are losing their shit over the potential of the game being gone for good. Now, no way they are killing a golden goose like this, but it's pretty hillarious watching people with no idea how to react or what to do about the whole thing.
