Do you get to write messages to the customers?  Your coworker totally should have responded with "use lube."

Sadly no, there are a few times when I wish we could, either to apologise to people for getting a crappy item that should never have been sold as new in the condition it was in or to tell them they were being a stupid pillock.

An example of the latter would be when someone sent back a kettle commenting that there was no electric base (the base part that plugs into the wall that you stick the kettle on top of, y'know the thing) in the box when they opened it. The base was inside the kettle with the cord wrapped around it. They hadn't even thought to check the inside of the kettle before sending the thing back.

Wore one of my most satanic shirts to the Christian op-shop I'm set to begin a period of indentured servitude (read: "work for the dole") at starting next week.

It's a small revenge considering the sheer drudgery of the whole affair, but at least it made things amusingly uncomfortable. Sadly this place apparently has a uniform unlike the ones I've had to work at in the past, but I'm glad I made the most of this opportunity.

Father: It's getting dark rather early... I think it's going to rain.
Mother: No, it's just evening.
Dozebom: It can't be evening, it's 3:43. It's just afternoon.
Father: Alexa, what time does the sun set?
Alexa: Sunset is at 4:31 PM.
...
Father: Alexa, what's wrong with [Generic Midwestern State]?
Alexa: I'm sorry, I don't know what went wrong.

All the corn is probably a big part of it

As a Midwesterner I can assure you, corn isn't the problem.

It's the soybeans' fault.

Heh, among my friends I'm apparently obsessed with corn.  Though I always argue that it's a very American obsession.
