Beolas furrows his brows slightly, "Does it really matter, Sacha? I cannae see the harm in a good story."

"I don't mind a story. I don't like her lying is all."

"...Okay, I don't want to pull my "Elf" card, but... I'm 120 years young, Sacha-I've lived longer than you, and seen much more than you probably ever will. Not to be mean or anything...technically, I'm hardly into Elven adulthood...

...I understand you can't believe in some things till you've seen them with your own eyes. I admit my stories tend to be a bit...fantastic...but, I've no doubt our continued adventures will be...illuminating. Stick with me Sacha, and...see for yourself. I mean, well, you have to ask yourself-if you are more hoping that I'm wrong or, that I'm right? The world can be a very colorful place, if you have the imagination for it.

More so when people like us have a chance to see those things with our own eyes!"
She says brightly.

"And your age has nothing at all to do with this. A five year old can lie just as much as an eighty year old. Human, I should add. I can believe things I haven't seen. My god for one. But don't think for a second that I'll let you pull the 'expert' card if something starts going wrong and I will certainly not stick with you. You are traveling with us. I'll make you a deal. If you can prove ANY of those things right I'll give you fifty gold."

Reli smile grows steadily more mischievous as she considers the words.

"...I'll take the deal, but I won't take your gold, since I know I'm telling the truth...it wouldn't be right." She insists virtuously, flicking wet hair out of her eyes. "...Being friends with you isn't easy, Sacha. Of course, nothing truly valuable is ever gained without trial." Reli notes, using her somewhat poor stock of Elvish wise sayings.

"Dragon Turtles don't even exist! Mermaids are just fantasies cooked up by horny teenage boys in the dark of night. Bog Blokes... Okay I haven't heard that tale I'll admit. All of those things are fake. You probably just shot a turtle with a crossbow, met a half-elf or some such that enjoyed diving and... got into a fight for that last one. I wouldn't mind your stories so much if they weren't such outright lies."
"Come on, Sacha! We just saw giant spiders a few days ago! Who's to say they aren't real?"

"Spiders can be big or small. Turtles can't be dragons and no one I know has ever seen a Mermaid. Only fish are underwater."

"A name's just a name, don't be silly. And as for mermaids...well~...

And when a sea monster wrecks our boat I'm totally telling you I told you so!"

Ness sticks her tongue out at Sacha before going to try and look at the island, leaning over the side of the boat.

She looks rather precariously balanced, on one foot's tip-toes, trying to get a closer look...

Get the ship into the cove, anchor away.

Get the ship into the cove, anchor away.
You anchor the ship. The cove is roughly a mile wide and the island perhaps half that at its widest point.

There is nothing but a desolate beach and a large swath of open land past it, covered in grass, fading into the distance replaced by rocky hills. There does not appear to be any sign of civilization, but there do appear to be a group of birds a few hundred feet away. Who knows? There's probably something interesting here.

"Voices, friends? Do we go ashore now, or wait and weather this wee storm aboard the ship?"

Right, right.

You have never heard of any of them.

((8, natural 1, doesn't exist.))

The storm isn't that bad, it's just a moderate wind and some light rain.
