"Magic's nae sommat you can hold and understand, lass. I may trust folk who use magic, but I've nae faith for things save the blade at my side, and mayhap the ship beneath us.

[Dwarmin]

"Hmm, I suppose it's the opposite for me... I've had to learn to rely on magic and faith to keep me alive-to make up for my...shortcomings...a part of living in two worlds, I guess. I admit, it's made me reliant on others, and I'm not the most self confident of Elves..." She muses.

[Tawa]

To the east!

You spend a long day at sea. It begins raining eventually, but the heavier wind just speeds you along faster yet.

Eventually, everybody spots an island quite a distance away. This one appears to be crescent-shaped and has a rather tall ridge along the center.

[Dwarmin]

Reli doesn't seem to be bothered by the rain, even if it seems to make the ends of her long honey-blonde hair curl.

"...seems like a nice place to put the ship to rest, in case the storm gets worse. A natural cove?" She says, taking a look at the clouds.

Action: Use my survival skill (+6) to determine the incoming weather...

"As opposed to all the unnatural coves in the world," Beolas asks.

She punches Beolas in the shoulder playfully.

"Oh, stop teasing me, you! There's a lot of coves made by things other than erosion and tides. I mean, a big old Turtle Dragon could have dug the one we see right now to lay her eggs-that's the only time they really come to the surface. I told you about Turtle Dragons, right? Chomp chomp!

The Merfolk know how to make artificial islands too, to make trading ports with the surface world."

[Nerjin]

"Must you? Your tall tales grow weary after a point." Sacha sighed as she gazed at the cove. Not exactly her choice of destination but it wasn't her choice.

[Dwarmin]

"I've seen a lot of the world with my own eyes, Sacha. Some tales just have to be told-how else could they become tall?"

[Nerjin]

"Yes yes. And I can bring people back from the dead. Please. We're not..." Sacha casts a glance at Ayeleth "Well most of us are intelligent enough to know you're exaggerating. If you absolutely must tell stories could you at least tell the truth."

[Dwarmin]

Relic really seems a bit alarmed.

"...But, it is true! I really did see a Turtle Dragon once-I shot at it with a ballista! And, the Merpeople really do have Ice Cities under the ocean! I met Casso, King of Seals! I fought Bog Blokes in my undergarments, with a torch and a pair of shackles! I was there! I saw those things!"

[Nerjin]

"Dragon Turtles don't even exist! Mermaids are just fantasies cooked up by horny teenage boys in the dark of night. Bog Blokes... Okay I haven't heard that tale I'll admit. All of those things are fake. You probably just shot a turtle with a crossbow, met a half-elf or some such that enjoyed diving and... got into a fight for that last one. I wouldn't mind your stories so much if they weren't such outright lies."

[Flying Dice]

Beolas furrows his brows slightly, "Does it really matter, Sacha? I cannae see the harm in a good story."

[Dwarmin]

Relic opens her mouth, then closes it. She takes a moment to collect her thoughts. Arguing with short-lived mortals never really gets you anywhere...it had taken her a few decades to learn that.

"...Okay, I don't want to pull my "Elf" card, but... I'm 120 years young, Sacha-I've lived longer than you, and seen much more than you probably ever will. Not to be mean or anything...technically, I'm hardly into Elven adulthood...

...I understand you can't believe in some things till you've seen them with your own eyes. I admit my stories tend to be a bit...fantastic...but, I've no doubt our continued adventures will be...illuminating. Stick with me Sacha, and...see for yourself. I mean, well, you have to ask yourself-if you are more hoping that I'm wrong or, that I'm right? The world can be a very colorful place, if you have the imagination for it.

More so when people like us have a chance to see those things with our own eyes!" She says brightly.
