The bosses aren't really animals though they were all at least semi humanoid or far to intelligent. As for taming normal animals, that would require a skill to accomplish but I can think of a way to make it work pretty easily just using systems from other games to see how they balanced it.
Hahahahahha! You're trying to use logic from other games... heh.
Now that jerkass mode is over;
That's what it's like in other games. That does not necessarily mean the same thing applies here.

Spoiler: Sheet (click to show/hide)
Are block and heavy armor skills?
Corrected battle healing and armor, swapped heavy armor for trapping.

Im gonna sell so many pets to our animal tamers.

Well thats not what it's like in other games. In other games it's a case of beat the animal to the verge of death then it does as it's told.

Hence why I used your idea for how recruitment of people will work in this game and just altered it to fit for animals instead. It's the only reasonable solution I could think of to enable it to work within this setting given that charisma does not exist as a stat in this and is instead controlled entirely by your own actions.
In an RTD they would normally use charisma roles for it and I don't see why your alternative charisma method couldn't be adapted to fit the taming of animals and I know from personal experience with my own pets that your behavior and emotions have a large impact on the animals behavior.

Treat it well and don't show it fear and in time it'll bond with you if you don't get it killed first. I know that works in the cases of large spiders, snakes and dogs at the very least including 1 dog that was used as a guard dog and so was particularly violent when we first got it.
For the purposes of a game it'd fit well enough for other animals you'd just have to determine how it would work with each kind of animal based on the animal.

You know, the Real Person backstory is probably more important. We'll be playing as them, after all. Anyone's character who, in this life and death situation, goes on about "my people don't get along with elves" is a SERIOUSLY hardcore RPer.

Does every bard ability need its own skill slot? Like, "The one that does this buff," "the one that does that debuff"?

Updated skill list, also merged singing with Heavy Metal.

If i catch a large enough animal and have someone tame it can i use it as both a pet and a mount?

Hmm now to ditch a skill to replace with Animal Taming.

Heavy Feet would either increase friction, or just used to keep feet firmly planted into the ground.

Is that really a skill? All your doing is lowering your center of gravity and digging your feet in.

Busking: playing for money, on the street. "Pass the hat/basket" sort of thing.

I'm not sure I understand.

I don't think that qualifies as a skill. What with the whole 'this is something that is an RL skill' and whatnot.

Basically, he'd be able to put on a performance out in the street and get money for it. Think Fable 3's Lute minigame.

That's not really a skill, since it is determined by whether people like your music and/or pity you enough to give you money.

It's as much a skill as as haggling ???

Though I suppose you could say it's covered by "Heavy Metal."
