Now that the sidequests are taken care of, it's time to hit the Victory Road.
Hey Victini, isn't this supposed to be your home, with you being the Victory Pokémon and all? Or you don't live there because you suck?
"Why don't you go f-"*logs off*
This is the last obstacle before the Elite Four. Those who can't make it here are not worthy to challenge the Quasar League. Those who struggle cannot hope to succeed.
Victory Road appears to be divided into three sections: Rock, Ice, and Steel. According to the Mythologist in the base, that's because it corresponds to the three legendaries here: Regirock, Regice, and Regsteel.
Well, that's very comforting.
Isn't Honey Boo Boo that trailer trash lolicon?
He first sent out Golem. It was the same level as Helioptile, the weakest on the team, but she got beat quick. Excadrill took it out. Next was Hariyama who was taken out by Staraptor. Then Lucario. Last was an Excadrill that my Excadrill beat.
Aside from Helioptile going down(which was my fault, not hers), that wasn't so bad. I might be ready for this after all. Hey, who's laughing back there?
Anyway, there's new, powerful Pokémon to be had here, as well.
This one knows Rock Climb, which opens up a great many places even if I don't find(or have already completely missed) the HM for it. Helioptile was knocked out again catching it, though.
I'm sure that you could learn much by studying Darkrai, or watch a Munna or Drowzee use Dream Eater.
He sent out Plusle and Minun. Both fell to Helioptile's Bulldoze.
Now, study your dreams as they are crushed. That's what you came here for, isn't it?
If yoga is crushingly harsh, you're probably doing it wrong.
What is it with people and trying to end everyone's dream?
He used Marowak, Ambipom(which looks downright creepy, and I thought Aipom was bad), Hitmonlee, and Mawille. Nothing hard, although Helioptile almost lost to Mawille. She's really struggling, isn't she?
Now give me your money.
Thank you.
Why an orphanage? They have no money or anything of value. And if you want to smack a few parentless kids around, you usually have to pay
them for the privilege.
Anyhow, the discovery of a Dive spot next to the thief prompts me to teach Dive to Seaking.
In the seaweed under there, I find...
I hope that Michael Bay doesn't make a movie about four of these who... oh wait, nevermind.
Coming up, there's more.
I lost Helioptile again catching this. Gotta do something soon about that.
Took a lot of Ultra Balls to catch. The first attempt(asleep at ~10%HP), it broke out after one shake.
A Dark/Dragon? If it had three heads, I could make a joke, but I don't think many people would get the reference.
Mienfoo sounds like something I'd see at a Chinese restaraunt.
Once more, Helioptile fell while trying to weaken it without overkill(granted, it was harder since I can't shock it).
An Escape Rope to exit back to Huron Town to heal up and restock on Balls. I have to do something about Helioptile. On the one hand, she'll be useful against at least Morgan, and who knows what else they might throw at me. On the other hand, she's about as effective as a porcelain doll fighting a semi-truck with a taser. It's not a level disadvantage. Statwise, she comes up about half or worse of everyone else except Speed.
I can either put her in a box. Or...
"...Evolve me."(Wow, that sadface Helioptile turned out creepier than I expected.)Are you sure?
"I have to get stronger, right? Then, you have to make me evolve."Well, okay. I have a Sun Stone, so I can do it.
...Erm, how do I actually
use it? Do I throw it at them, like a Pokéball?
"What? No! That's not how you-!"*wham*
Special thanks to GIMP, which decided to blur parts of the image when I tried to rotate them. That was a pain in the ass to fix.I don't think I did such a great job with the glasses. I was trying to copy the style worn by the Succubus Witch from MonsterGirl Quest(not for *that* reason, it was just a design that fit), but I think I messed up. I might update them some other time. The evolution bumped up her stats quite a bit. She's still a bit below everyone else, but not by much, and can be explained by her low level and generally poor growth rates in her physical stats. To compare, her physical Attack and Defense are low, but are higher than Excadrill's(who is at a similar level) Special Attack and Defenses(which are his dump stats). She does have a fairly large amount of EVs in those stats as well.
I could say that her Special Attack, her primary stat besides Speed(which is now second only to Staraptor), is a bit lower than the rest of the team's primary stats, but that may be due to level or rather poor development. I can probably bump that up before the Elite Four with some drugs or something. For a comparison of how strong she got, at the end of last update, one level ago, Helioptile's stats were: 141HP/68 Attack/73 Defense/119 Sp. Att/61 Sp. Def/137 Speed. After gaining a level and evolving, Heliolisk's stats are: 166HP/92 Attack/ 99 Defense/ 169 Sp. Att/120 Sp. Def/195 Speed. It's her poor Defense and HP that's hurting.
Going back to Victory Road, I find more trainers talking about broken dreams. Then I realize it, the Rock section is the first part, so all these guys are just the rejects.
Heliolisk showed some worth tearing up a Sailor(okay, fine, that's a Water-type class), and helped capture Hariyama.
And this is why there's only one train in the country, and it's in a region where Hariyama doesn't appear.
A climbable rock, but it only leads to one of those holes in the walls. I've been wondering what those are, but I'd better not ask, or Neonivek won't be able to contain himself.
"broken dreams. Feed me."That's... that's all kinds of screwed up.
Seriously.
She sent out Xatu, Vaporeon, Mandibuzz, and Rotom. Heliolisk took out the first three, ironically feeding off of them with Parabolic Charge, while Zoroark got Rotom.
I could probably get you some real food. I didn't think humans took too well to Dream Eater anyway.
Ow! My flesh! My soft and blood-filled flesh!
Oddly none of his Pokémon - Vileplume, Frosslass, and Dustox - knew Cut. His Vileplume did do an inordinate amount of damage to Staraptor, though, and was later poisoned with Dustox's Toxic.
What the hell. First that girl, now a child cannibal? What the hell, did the Elite Four decide to turn Victory Road into an insane asylum?
After a few more psychotic rejects, and a waterfall that made me really glad I taught Dive to Seaking instead of swapping for Relicanth, I'm at the Ice section of Victory Road. I have to skate across the ice. This is harder than it looks.
At least there are some much-needed Ice Pokémon.
Oh Mia, I got some mammoth burgers for you!
...It does look like it'd be pretty tasty, actually.
I missed this one on Mt. Press. Come to think of it, there aren't too many pure Ice-types, are there?
...Yeah, I met the kid who was cutting people.
Why is it that everyone with a stab wound who asks me for help attacks me?
He had Scizor with claws, Heracross with a horn, Pinsir with two horns, and Mr. Mime. I bet with was Mr. Mime who stabbed him.
Hey wait, he's not stabbed. It's too cold for him to feel pain!
Anyway, here's some ice cream.
What's that sticking out in front?
After a long series of annoying ice slides, I make it to the Steel section. Why couldn't I attach skates to my Rocket Boots. That would be awesome, but would probably kill me.
This area's schtick is the walls are invisible, so I have to pick my way through.
And yet, I still suffer FPS death on Dwarf Fortress with it.
That's nowhere near the earth's core.
Where it presumably killed everyone on-site.
I swear, that was worse than the Treasure Shop game from Majora's Mask. ...huh?
"cave. The Elite Four... the hardest challenge any trainer could ask for.""Go, my high-school friends!"...Seriously, you're going to throw fanboys at me?
I'd have a bit more respect if they were fan
girls. Now I know whatever he said about my mom was a load of crap.
YOLO means "you only live once". Why do you insist on doing things that drasticly shorten your only life?
I switched to Staraptor. She was confused from Rock Climb, but she didn't attack herself and instead brought Scrafty down to low HP. Then it killed itself with Head Smash.
Next was another Scrafty, but since Staraptor is hurt and confused, I switched to Seaking. They seem to insist on Head Smash which hurts them almost as much as it hurts me. Two Scrafties down.
Another Scrafty. Switchted to Staraptor and used Fly. Three down.
Last is... Scrafty. Fly again.
Where's that cannibal kid?
I'm attacked again without pause. At least with the Elite Four you can use items in between.
At least it's not Scrafty. Heliolisk had trouble so I switched to Victreebel in time to blunt an Earthquake.
After that it was three more Tyranitars. All taken out by Victreebel, despite being worn down by their sandstorms.
Seriously! Where's a cannibal when you need him?
What? Hell no. The last time we fought together, you pulled out three crappy Pokémon and left me to fight against 2-on-1! You didn't even legitimately earn that last badge. You can't take me in a straight fight, so you send your yoloswagtards to try and weaken me. Quite frankly, I'm amazed you made it through Victory Road without being torn apart by cannibals.
...Plus, I don't think two people can challenge the Elite Four together. Isn't it a rule that only one can stand at the top?
Go home, Jake. You're not ready for this. Hell, I'm not 100% sure
I'm ready for this. But you... you don't have what it takes.
*sigh*
If you won't go home, then I'll
send you home.
My team may be half worn-out, but his are still grossly underleveled(those swagtards had Lv.63 teams).
Klefki got Thunder Wave off faster than I anticipated(remember, Heliolisk is the 2nd-fastest on the team), but Parabolic Charge took a good chunk out of her HP. It didn't fill up much of Heliolisk's, indicating low HP stat. I'll remember that for when I examine my Klefki later.
While I pour some Fresh Water on Heliolisk, Klefki created a Substitute.
After clearing the paralysis, Klefki used Swagger, so I switched to Excadrill. The only attack move Klefki has is Foul Play.
Klefki only managed any serious damage because of Swagger.
This shouldn't be too hard. (granted, that's what I always say before getting stomped...)
Eh, just a Faint Attack. Nothing serious.
Been here before, haven't we?
It used Quick Attack before I could get into the air. I'm not sure why I still have that on Staraptor's movelist.
I'm still not sure where the hell that Jirachi came from. It's version-locked, I suppose? I haven't tried Zeta yet.
I know Zoroark doesn't have a offensive advantage here, but he's the only one not bleeding from some wound or another.
It hit me with Double-Edge, but that only weakened it for a finishing Night Daze.
Oh come on, Jake, you saw what happened to an entire team of those, right?
That. That happened.
At least he's right about that.
Scald is an interesting attack. It's Water-type, but inflicts burns.
Didn't I tell you? You're not ready for this.
Legendary does not always mean most powerful. And... Jirachi seems an unusual choice for you. It doesn't fit your swag style.
You just don't learn, do you?
Well, at least with Jake out of the way, I can press on.
I'm here. It's been a long journey, but it's not over yet.
Right. I'm gonna heal up, then spend some time planning a strategy, and training everyone up.
I'm going to need some supplies. Although you can't run back to the Pokémon Center after you start, nothing says you can bring potions with you or use them in battle(I expect
them to spam Full Restores).
I guess it's time to relax a bit before starting. Might as well end this update as well.
