((I'm operating on the assumption that Dalia doesn't know that Kaotaro is a girl yet, because arglebargle nobody seems to remember if she knows or not. So she's gone to the default state, which is assuming that she's a boy due to reverse trapness. So no smiting. Or at least not for that.))

((She'd be in pain anyway, her nervous system got damaged when we beat the shit out of it.))
((Indeed. Or something like that.   ;) Also she doesn't have 'assets'; she's a tomboy, she's incredibly flat-chested))

"I-I can't m-moov-" the boy/girl(?) says, staring at the ceiling. "Bunss - bunss evywheh, undeh my sskin, huts!"

If she was capable of moving, you're sure she would be spasming right now.

Kaiser would find that his scan is impeded by the huge amount of her body that happens to be made of nanobots, it seems. Or infested with them. Or something. It's not easy to tell. However, impeded does not mean impossible, and from the looks of it, her nervous system is nearly useless, if he knows anything about how that stuff works. Or has databases with it. What's more, it looks like a lot of the damage is old, but ongoing...

What's incredibly interesting is the way she screams a few seconds after he gives her morphine, and the spike in nanobot activity. And, hopefully a good sign: she bucks. Slightly. Mostly her left leg, which manages to catch Kaiser's chin with her foot. Not hard enough to bruise, but he nearly bit his tongue.

With the nanobots apparently distracted, Kaiser can look at what they're doing; disassembling the morphine as it enters her system. They also seem to be forming a crude neural network to connect and route around or bridge her nervous system, so that she can move. Their general frenzy of useless activity would probably account for both her current pained state and her inability to move; to put it simply, they're scrambled.

((Dalia is a tsundere; He's not taking any chances))

Kaiser attempts to locate the control plexus of the nanobots, giving small doses of morphine to Kaotaro if she appears to still be in pain.

The morphine seems to only exasperate the problem, as the nanobots whip into activity whenever foreign material is introduced, shredding it. The resultant heat, and the general movement, is probably what's causing her pain.

And, of course, because nothing can ever be easy in life, the control node for the nanobots, if it can be called such (it's very decentralised, it seems; they seem to be using the girl's entire body as a processing unit, or they would if they weren't haywire), is attached to, or possibly part of, the brain stem, right at the base of the skull.

However, with each dose of morphine, though it's not dulling the pain any, whatever's allowing her to move, and causing her pain, seems to pull itself together a bit more. So, perhaps, in a way, the morphine is working. Or will work. Only it causes a lot of pain before it dulls the general sense slightly. And if too much is added, and the nanobots stop disassembling it...

Working with foreign nanobots is hard.

((what size are Kaiser's nanobots?))

((Varies. They act and work together like cells in a human body now, and there are a lot of types of nanobot playing around in there. The 'immune' system would do a number on Kaotaro's nanobots.))

Kaiser grabs some ice packs and places them around her body, also attempting to determine if completely replacing the nanobots with a safer variant of his own was possible.

((And vice versa...))

The short answer? No, it wasn't. Preliminary probes had some rather catastrophic effects on the nanobots sent in, and had they still be chained to Kaiser, possibly some rather dangerous effects on him as well. The metallic covering over her spine seems to be the center of construction and whatnot for many of the nanobots; it stretches up into her brain stem, and replaces large portions of her spine, and seems to be, in all likelihood, the 'main body' of the nanobots, where they are a nearly solid mass, more like an extraordinarily complex living organism than a machine. Energy output from this area is also incredibly high, though it is unclear what new nanobots are being created from. It seems to be almost magic. But...not the 'normal' magic that's commonplace. Not quite. Not Void, either. It's strange. There also seems to be a continuous reaction going on inside of Kaotaro's body and especially in her spinal column area, that's providing the energy for the nanobots to sustain themselves on and the like.

And by this time, Kaiser can see that nanobots is probably the wrong term; they are more like hybridized cells, cyborgs almost, that interact with Kaotaro's body as if they were cells, and with outside influences as if they were nanobots. It's more complicated than that, probably, but it's clear they aren't nanobots in the traditional sense of the word.

For one thing, there was a distinctly magical or supernatural piece to them. But that had already been obvious.

Kaiser attempts to manually control the nanobots in the same fashion he does: Using CORE. CORE proceeds to (in return for promising to do something that makes Kaiser blush) slightly influences the nanobots into recreating the neural network.

CORE also creates, as he calls it, a 'TF2 Spybot', which is a tiny nanobot which manages to fool Kaotaro's nanobots into thinking it is one of them.

CORE would run up against a wall. He could, barely, influence the nanobots, but CORE could sense a bit more about the AI, and in particular, the spinal column, than Kaiser could. And what he found was...ill-boding. It is likely the god would not speak of it, just as he would not speak of many things to Kaiser.

The Spybot could fool Kaotaro's nanobots, but only so far. Clever tiny bastards.

CORE continues to influence the nanobots into creating the neural interface, hopefully returning Kaotaro's motor control.

"A-are you g-getting m-more control?"

"Sen, the Compendium demon, is in possession of the mask."
Alucard taps his pencil against the desk, thinking.
"Hesketet could manipulate time... would it make sense if Lolgrammoth could slow down time to accelerate his speed relative to our perspective? What if his other separate forms are... from other timelines?"

"It vould be difficult to describe Tezzphai in terms of speed. Rules of transport and location do not nessesarily apply to him. Anyhow, would it be possible to study zee mask?"

Alucard gives a nod and gets up from his chair. He closes his books and pushes the chair in before tearing open a portal to Maria's house, a black-borded oval of shimmering energy.
   "She should be in there."
