"It's not far, I'll take the bike, I should be back in the evening. I'll give you a call if there is a delay."

Michael sits around for three more minutes. Nothing happens, so he grabs a small rock and tosses it at the barrier from behind the car.

"Heh. Not really, been trying to figure out how to promote a more socially-responsible chip though. Remarkably, people don't want to pay half again as much for a computer just so they're not buying the chips from the most infamous dictator since the second World War. Hear anything interesting on the news lately?"

"Not Really, just more people hating on magic users, you would think that by now people would have found something else to be scared of.  And not to maligh the subtle approach, but since it is not working perhaps a more forceful method of making him a non-issue should be taken"

As the rock goes into the barrier, nothing happens. Then, the rock flies back out and nearly hits Micheal square in the head.

Alucard takes the glowing egg in hand and examines it a moment.
 "But flies, even after they are swatted, will always come together and swarm again."
"I-I s-s-s-see...." she stammers, unable to hold back tears.

"Hilda... just because I've changed doesn't mean you need to be sad. There are plenty of people like me in the world. And plenty of people that could love you as much as you loved me. So cheer up. I'm sure you'll find someone else."

HILDA begins to tremble, squeezing him harder.
 "B-before I met you...  I was hated, I was feared.. n-nobody cared for me... I-I started to do... bad things.. I-I robbed and stole..."

The day ensues. Lerman and friends walk around the city, watch a movie and screw around in the museum. Tom (The friend) hits on a catgirl, which earns him a slap across the face and humiliation from his peers.

"Oh shut up, it wasn't even that funny. (it totally was, ahahahhah) Geez. Anyway, do you guys wanna see my dorms at over at Griffith University? You can stay an extra few days in my dorms, Lerman, it's not like you have work 24/7. I heard there's a dragon teaching at the school!"

"Weirdo, how is that even possible? Besides, most live in remote places anyway." "Oh come on, it's not that weird!" "Um, yes, yes it is."

Lerman smiles precariously.

"I-I'll have to check... with my boss first... but okay."

"Sweet, we'll all go back to the dorms together then, huh?"

"Please don't corrupt him, he's so innocent!" "What am I, some sort of evil pervert monster?" "...that would explain a couple things..."

"Alright."

They catch the train to the Nathan Campus, and Lerman follows his friend back to the dorms.
