Okay, but I'll need some time to set up the scenario, since Sen has used up a clump of mana and health.

I have it in amount of armour (number) it cuts through, specifically its a magic roll you get your resistance, and the damage is dealt to the armour's value

((The extra 5 health counts as 'defeat' for the sparring, since I don't want anyone to actually die.))
So, what are the chances that more of Murder Night's assassins pop up and finish off the person on 5 HP? :P

I have an explanation for why people can use swords and not get fucked up by basically everyone.

Does it matter though? This game is mostly detached from reality anyway and plenty of the technology certainly cannot be explained even if the use of swords can be.

Gods of war and battle and stuff make them effective enough to be useful because it's entertaining.

But why aren't bare fists and sharpened stones effective? If the gods give the ways of old a chance to win, then why wouldn't they offer the same to more primitive weapons?

But really, when one of the key advantages of firearms, that things tend to reliably die after getting shot, doesn't apply, you don't need deus ex machina to explain sword usage. After all, they don't run out of ammunition, have arguably better potential for enchantment, and charging at someone with it whilst getting shot doesn't result in horrible death which is one of their main disadvantages in real life.

When were bare fists and sharpened stones ever proved to be ineffective?
