Magic has shown its face around these parts. How do you feel about it?

It's not reasonable! Quit messing around with the laws of reality!

Meh, who cares? Reasonable people work with what they're given.

Most excellent. It would be reasonable for everyone to have some abilities.

Science is always important. But it needs more flaming cats. Can't we build bridge-based catapults and fling flaming cats at the dust and goo?

It's time for the ATHATH Death Counter to increase once more in celebration for the end of the world.

Well, it was a nice city while it lasted.  I guess.  Wait, the feather...

Try and somehow "absorb" one of the phoenix feathers.  Then use the resulting pyrokinesis to force the fire to extinguish itself.

Am I allowed to wake up now?
Yeah, sure. You miss all the good parts of the dream, but wake up.

Get in a fist fight.

And win.

Did You Just Punch Out Zeus?

Inspect the ones I picked.
"What do we have here?"
Most of them are exceptionally strong, fast or smart, but one in particular strikes odd. It seems that his/her attributes have not been decided yet. Specifying what kind of a sidekick might give him/her a face...

Fall asleep and experience consequences for eating magical veggies.
[7]

You have the mother of all Mushroom Sambas. It doesn't seem to have any other effects, though. Maybe those veggies need more than just eating to activate their powers?

[16]

You fall to your knees and shout "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" for no particular reason. You feel someone or something is feeling pity on you, as a giraffe appears in front of you and promptly jumps into the volcano. "Oh, don't feel bad, have a giraffe...oh, no, no...oh dear. Carp it."

Well, it was a nice city while it lasted.  I guess.  Wait, the feather...

Try and somehow "absorb" one of the phoenix feathers.  Then use the resulting pyrokinesis to force the fire to extinguish itself.
[6]

You can't seem to be able to absorb it. Perhaps it has a specific condition to do so?

"No no no! This isn't a robbery! I just want to sell this sword. How much will you buy it for, or do you know someone who would buy it?"
[4]

"Buy that?! BUY THAT?! BAHAHAHAHAHA! No, I don't know anybody who would be so stupid. Listen, nobody wants to buy a sword they cannot even lift. Swords like that are almost impossible to resell."

Well, the subject I spoke to indicated that he was distressed when he absorbed the feather.  If I can induce a state of distress...

Everything depends on this.

Imagine a distressing life or death situation, then try and control the flames.

Burrow under fence, unabashedly eat many many more veggies, far far in the back of the garden.

Oh yeah this.

Prove to the shopkeeper that I can sell it! Find someone who would be willing to buy it.

Eat his heart and ascend.
[7]

You reach for a conveniently placed dagger to cut his chest open with, but Hera grabs your hand as you try to do so. "...Why? Why do you want to kill my husband?"

Smack the Phoenix!
"That's for trying to kill me!"
"Calm down, I'm sorry. I'd be more worried that everyone else seems to be lying in a pool of blood right now."

Well, the subject I spoke to indicated that he was distressed when he absorbed the feather.  If I can induce a state of distress...

Everything depends on this.

[3]

You imagine a lot of scary things, but it doesn't seem to work. Maybe the Downs are smart in some way and only detect actual threats?

Burrow under fence, unabashedly eat many many more veggies, far far in the back of the garden.
Your burrowing weakens the fence, causing it to fall down. You are out in the open and surrounded on three sides by dog heads.

"Oh. That was unexpected, but still quite nice. Thanks?"

Look around, trying to find my benefactor
You see nobody. The voice sounded like it originated from inside your head...

He will be a Gary Stu! But his power shall never exceed mine.
[5]

You can't find anyone who is absolutely perfect in every way but not above you.

Check if my exosuit is still in working condition
[14]

Indeed, it is. It's not the prettiest, but extremely powerful.

BRING IT ON. Come at me, bro, come at me.

listen to my girlfriend bitch about the neighbours not approving of our homosexuality
[17]

You feel extremely bored, listening to her intolerant speech about the intolerant. After a while, you notice she has been repeating the same sentence for carp knows how long. (It's never too late.)

Oh yeah this.

Prove to the shopkeeper that I can sell it! Find someone who would be willing to buy it.
[8]

You find your way to the local recycling center. "Eh, I'll give you $10 for that, looks pretty pure," the worker says.
