(I remember this game. Posting to watch basically. Also I need to read through it, but from what I've seen so far it looks just as good as it used to be. Might try and join the waitlist once I finish reading.)

I can neither acknowledge nor deny blatantly copying someone else's work.

I've decided to better balance shields. From now on, if any damage gets through your armor and shield to hurt you, you'll gain hp as though you had no mundane shield. Also, there probably won't be an update today.

Just to clarify. If for example a 2 max hp peasant were to have a 1 damage shield, and took 2 damage, with only one of it getting through, they would gain 1 max hp?

(("Tomorrow" is a versatile word.
If you can kill the miniboss, people will start spawning with xp.))

Scream like a little girl Selflessly and valiantly drag Will to safety in what is clearly not an attempt to remove myself from the battle.
{1d6=3} - You do a poor job at dragging Will to safety ...
Escape to the city. Try not to die.
{1d4=1} - You are really hard to rescue. As you're struggling against whoever is restraining you, the doom frog attacks again. {1d5+1=1+1} vs {1d8+2=7+2] = Dead. Both of you. You don't even notice the person trying to manhandle you trying to ward it off with a bone.
Deceased x2.

Run away and get some rest.
{1d6=1} - The giant amphibian takes exception to you turning your back on it, and delivers a quick blow to your head.
Deceased.

Oh snap! Find some armor and a weapon!
{1d6=2} - You spawned with a pitchfork, and clothes count as armor in some cultures. {1d4+2=1+2} vs {1d8+2=1+2} = Tie. You bring your weapon up as the most horrifying frog you have ever seen tries to stab you. It trips and falls, which is just as well, since your weapon was the wrong way around anyway. You feel like you learn much about fighting from this experience.
Attack skill up x2!

Run away from the Big frogman, and attack a regular one instead.
{1d4=1} - No, the RNG is railroading you. {1d4+1=1+1} vs {1d8+2=4+2} = -3 HP. The miniboss stabs you as you're turning away. You barely bring your shield up in time, and go spiraling across the ground. Both your weapon and shield break during your rolls.
HP at -1
+2 Max HP
Attack skill up
Weapon broken
Shield broken

{1d4+1=2+1} vs {1d8+2=4+2} = -3 HP. You stand around doing nothing, and barely survive the beast's onslaught.
-3 HP
+1 Max HP
Attack skill up

Saks Goldman joins the battle.
Ursinus Bloodmurder joins the battle.
Sam joins the battle.
{1, 2, 2} - Starting inventory.

Three more peasants are shoved forward. One doesn't even have a weapon. They look uneasily at the maimed and occasionally still-living bodies around the giant monster.

Fight back and don't die.

Because trying to stuff Fate/Whatever's engrish and the title of a 17th century book on statecraft into Pokemon syntax tends to make the content incomprehensible.

Ride bearcub into battle valiantly. Scavenge a weapon and armor before doing so.

-snips here-
You uh, died.
