Ah, yeah, your team
is looking pretty slim - still, we've only just started, so it's not too surprising you don't want to trade yet! You don't really have anything that interests me at the moment, either - but I'm sure that will change down the road, and I'm sure we'll run into each other again soon! I'm heading back to Mount Moon - catch you later, XU!
With that, she was gone. Well - on to Mount Moon myself, then, I guess - that's the way to the next Gym Leader, after all!
[Professor Oak's Aid] Oh, EAF, XU! I'm glad I caught up with you!*
... what now?
[Professor Oak's Aid] I'm Professor Oak's AIDE. I've been asked to deliver this, so here you go.*
...shoes?
[Professor Oak's Aid] Well, I must be going back to the LAB. Bye-bye!*
Huh. There's a letter attached. "Dear EAUF,XU! I'll always cheer for you! Love - Mom."
Aww... thanks Mom!
Now, where was I... on to Mount Moon!
Excuse me!*
Argh, what do YOU want, now!
You looked at me, didn't you?*
*Lass Janice Wants to Battle.*
Oh, hah, yeah! Right! Fighting pokemon with random people everywhere, that's... still a thing, isn't it. Okay, let's do this, then.
*water gun water gun water gun water gun*

X_X
You're mean!*
YOU challenged ME! It's not my fault you've got sucky POKeMON and a burning desire to kill them off!
You shouldn't be staring if you don't want to battle!*
... Anyway, moving on...
Hey, there!
Oh hell, what now.
I saw you in Viridian Forest!*
Huh. Yeah, I remember you. You have the...
Go, Caterpie!
*shakes head*
*water gun water gun water gun water gun*
X_X X_X X_X
You beat me again!*
Aww no, you posioned NOVLAIKE! You bastard!
You haven't seen the last of me!
Luckily, NOVLAIKE survived the trip to the pokecenter without issue. Now, finally, I was
finally going to be on my way to MT. MOON.
Plenty more annoying trainers left wanting to pick a fight, most of them working on their battle cries more than training their pokemon (although with about as much skill - "I like shorts!" and "Hey, you're not wearing shorts, what's wrong with you?"? Really? What is wrong with the people on Route 3? Are they all
insane?) GHIK got wrapped up by an Ekan's once, and I was worried he wasn't going to make it, but he somehow managed to wiggle free in time, and in the process gained a few levels. Novlaike is ending up pulling most of the weight, when suddenly HECK YES, NOVLAIKE!
Squir...
Tortle!
Oh, man! You totally just gained a level in badass!
GHIK, seemingly inspired by this amazing performance, evolves soon afterwards.
[Kakuna] Weeee....
*buzz*
Leaving only Dio, who still showed no inclincation to do anything that wasn't looking cute or running away. Though I
do have to admit, he
does manage to look pretty cute.
At the base of the mountain, there's some tall grass, and I eye it. Route 3 is a new route - but I've got no idea what I'll find here. I double check my pokeballs - 7 left. After this attempt, I might want to go back and buy a few more in town, just case, before heading up the mountain proper. The trip will be a lot easier with all the pokemon trainers I turned into corpse trainers.
Let's do this.

Is there even anything here!? Come on, when I finally want something to attack me!
CAWW!
Oh no, it's an ugly bird! Do not want!
*buzzzz*
Actually, get back here, beedrill - this hardly seems like a good type matchup, and we don't want to kill the thing either. Dio, let's earn your keep!
*quick attack quick attack*
*growl peck*
Okay, good job Dio! Now, heee-yah!
*Level 6 spearow caught*
I will call you... Q!
I was next to a pokecenter, now, and the entrance to the Mount Moon caves. I headed inside to heal - there were a few people lounging around, presumably getting read to head through the mountain or recovering from having made such a trip. A few kids, an old man complaining about some "Team Rockets" or something, and... this guy.
While I can certainly
afford it after everyone I beat up on Route 3, this would be my only Route 4 pokemon, and Route 4 apparently extends onto the other side of MT. MOON as well - I don't know if I can catch anything over there, though. At least the Cave is marked with a different route name. I decide to head back and grab a couple pokeballs and repels, just in case, before I decide.
So, we have a few decisions to make - first, should we purchase this "Magikarp"? Second, should I use a repel to try and get one of the deeper-level mons from Mount Moon, or go for a zubat/geodude? Finally, who, if anyone, should I work on leveling as we move through the mountain? NOVLAIKE is obviously getting a bit ahead of the others, and that might be a bad thing.Team Status:
