I in fact assumed that belief based power generation just wasn't a part of the game, as there seemed to be neither a need for it, nor any evidence to the contrary.

I agree with 10ebbor10's statement, except that I hadn't even noticed the absence of a worship-gives-power mechanic until it was pointed out.

Precisely why it is a spoiler.  I wanted it to be as unexpected for the players as it would be for the gods.  While you could argue that ancients, elder gods, and the overgod would know about it, it's actually not supposed to happen...

I'm not saying anything more besides these two words: hidden classification.

I see.  Interesting.  Well, I think that such a mechanic is somewhat unfair to be hidden, because someone could spend all their acts creating wondrous things without a worshiper to their name and find themselves screwed over when the new mechanic hits the field.

Really, that's only one idea I have floating around.  All depends on how the situation develops.  All I have to say is, people should either make sure they are powerful on their own or have a powerbase.

Honestly, I'm probably going for slow decline.

A message from the mildly concerned GM:  No one else make an ascendant.  I have it set at a cap of 5, and I want to bring in some due to actions of ascendants, and I can't readily do that if we run into the cap this turn!

I'm not making an ascendant: I didn't actually imbue him with power, I just gave him the staff.

And what he is using it for is not 'order'.  I see 'forest'/'life', 'water', and 'earth'.  In order to do that, you need unbound versions.

Makes sense, but you're sending them to a planet that is just a rock right now.  Whitius doesn't have the right acts to really change the planet.  His unbound acts are not powerful enough, and his 'order' acts focus around stability and hierarchies (Action of binding the souls to the luminox created the soul heirarchy with the Luminox at the top and the mortals attached to them being lower).

*sigh* okay, it said I had a mighty act in the turn for "Order", unless that was just a single act. Also, I seriously don't know what to do at this early point with an act of Order. I mean, about the greatest I can think of currently is rearranging the fricken trees on Mori. Or maybe I can change the Spectres into less chaotic creatures.... Let me go redact that, really quick.
