Getting better, it seems. Though I've had several doctors come and tell me the same things, as though they have no communication with each other and don't realize that I've already been told several times what is going on. And whats going on is they're giving me lots of fluids and taking lots of blood in return. Cultures showing what I have should be done soon and I should get out fairly soon, they say.

Organ transplant is even more strict than just blood type.

You can determine HLA type and such from a sample from the organ you're about to transplant, but I'm not sure what the time frames involved are when talking about using one from a not-so-fresh corpse.

That's just another diagnostic test, to check higher mental faculties. They measure how many times a dude can come in and explain the same goddamn thing to you all over. Each visit is counted, and at whatever visit you snap and start spouting profanity at those whitecoated nerds is your 'doctor number'. I believe normal values are between 3-5 or so, it's been a while since I read the paper on it. I also heard some hospitals run a little contest to see who can get the highest doctor number, but that's probably just a rumor. As if they need any extra source of entertainment when they have all those unconscious patients lying around.
