I shall start updating my characters page from now on =D.... Let's see how much longer he survives with his low stats on the missions he goes on however xD, also, Vincent epic failed and missed a heat gun shot at close range as well, but both misses were on watch one, and shit didn't hit the until watch 3? Anyways, I'm off to bed. NIGHT

I wonder what would happen if we airdropped some liquid nitrogen onto mission 18?

Quick, someone use a manipulator to supercool some sand!

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

But it thrives on cold. That seems counter-intuitive.

You know what's the easiest way of getting someone who likes to eat something you can freely create go in the direction you need?

Make cold in one direction and run in the opposite.

Science as distraction is still science.

Oh, brilliant. Also, I wonder if the Eater can fly. If not, maybe Dubley or somebody airborne could kill it.

But it's nighttime, and there are still plenty of nice juicy targets, even if it can't get to the flying targets, it sure as hell can get to others.
Not mentioning that that person would have to continually fly even if it didn't target something else.

It happened during the 3rd watch. The sun has to come up at some point. Maybe it'll weaken if we make it to sunrise. Then again, it hasn't actually taken any hostile action towards us. Or any action, really. Other than finding a new host. We could just stand around, maybe have staring contests with it or something.

You guys realize that the whole mission 18 snafoo could probably be solved in one turn right?

Morul and i think Gorat both possess microwave and mass space magic and i think theres a few other space wizards running about.

All they gotta do is pull off a coo-ordinated combo strike that encapsulates the eater in a thick sphere of sand then heats it into glass and hey presto, giant marble containing an inmate possessed by evil alien fire spirits.

Edit:hell the eater would probably melt all the sand into a marble anyway with all the heat its putting out.

I cannot help but notice that as time passes on, we become more proficient at certain jobs (diplomacy, subtlety in general) while the original HMRC-like missions start going worse and worse.

Or is that just me?
It isn't coincidence. people that volunteer for "boring" missions are less likely to behave erratically or run off on their own. people that volunteer for "exciting" missions want to take risks, and ER has very harsh dice.

Yeah, figured as much. What to do to fix this though? Take loose cannons along on important missions (so that vets are freed up for the dangerous ones to provide some oversight) and risk them screwing things up there?

Now that I think of it, as long as the missions that implode aren't that important, we can use them as a lightning rod for failure.

Training ground, I suppose? If you survive the regular fuckups of the alien missions, you're considered competent and can move on to higher ranks or something.
Though it's likely that constantly failing these missions'll result in bad things for the overall war effort.

Remember, PC did say that you could 'fail' this game, but it would require an impressive amount of screwups, plus, as long as annhililation of the target is achieved, then at least the enemy won't be getting the resources either.

Oh yeah, I'm not exactly thrilled we're failing missions on a regular basis here. Might need to look into getting those ranks worked out... Or find a way to weed out the idiots before they go on mission. A shmuck bait blender or something.
