There seems to be a lack of missions where people actualy get to use their mega-alien-death-penises. More combat-oriented missions might mean people are less inclined to shoot at every ltitle problem in the tamer ones.

I mean so far as i can tell, the amount of cockup is inversely proportional to the difficulty here.

Give a bunch of trigger-happy maniacs big death-lasers and then ask them to open boxes? Or patiently escort one docile prisoner? You're just asking for trouble.

Speaking of Ivan's rampage and pills, was that pill created at the end of the battle ever used? I don't remember if I saw it again.

It was last given to the infirmary for analysis. It should still be there.

I don't remember anyone finding out. But it was given by a device that supposedly does exactly what you tell it to, with the command "give me the ability to defeat an Altered in melee combat without sacrificing my humanity", or something to that effect. I'd imagine it will make your body perform somewhat like Renen's, and dramatically boost your strength, at the expense of your lifespan. Meaning, you will have that power and ability, but for a very short time before your body expires.

It appears that the pill would have caused massive mutations that, judging from the report, would have made fighting an Altered easier; armor plated skin, increased strength and regenerative abilities. The works.
