They're building Robo-Sods.

Otoh, I think the first batch had 30 organic sods in it, instead of being all robo-sods, so they can find one.

Hey Piecewise and everyone else.
Since it appears to be a thing now to have new thread for new missions, I thought maybe we could do same for earlier missions? I believe this was discussed earlier with somewhat positive decision, but without actual results.

I'm mainly asking this because I'm pretty much ready to post cleaned up version of mission 1. What I did was to copy all posts and remove all ooc discussion, actions and dialogs that didn't actually happened, hide roll results, reorder posts into more chronological/sensible order, color GM generated dialog for those who use colors and generally trying to make whole thing more easily readable.

So if it's ok to post it then I would like to ask someone to proof read it for grammar and formatting. Html version is readable here.

I told you to test with colors! But nooo, you just had to go clone mega-Satan or whatever.

That is very nicely done, bravo.

I'll be putting a link to the on the wiki.

Right. Crossposting from M14.

"I swear to god if you just broke my shiny new alien murder penis dispenser the second after i got it in its box i will murder you and mount your skull on my crotchplate."
And I swear on your survival that if you speak once more like that again to your allies, you'll be happy to see a positive digit in that range.

Feyri remembered Auron.
She didn't like him in this current timeframe.
But that was emotional reaction.

...Still.

I've read in PW's updates (vague detail in my perception) that the basement of the diner somewhat is connected to the main sewer tunnels, which Faith is currently moving through. However I'm not really sure if we ARE in a tunnel that leads to the main tunnels at the moment -_-
Anyone got a topographical note on this? Team 3 is in the basement and...?

To be more precise, you are embedded in the wall at the end of that stretch of tunnel, but eh, details.

Sure, though it may be a bit difficult due to Charles lacking the technical background of his colleagues and commanders.

No worries, this isn't about technical stuff.

So totally not giving my Vectored Alien Termite Infestation Cannon And Nest to heph guys, i have little faith in their ability to reverse engineer it.

Definately giving it to R&D guys on-ship for appraisal, and new acronym.

If Steve demands it though, you ain't really got a choice.

But yeah, since we seem to have a Super Competent R&D department on the Sword with lots of experience with alien tech, it'd be strange not to employ their services anymore. On the other hand, it would be fun for the Hep people, and make sense in-universe.

Hmm. Hey PW, would it be too late to retcon (part of) the scientist division having stayed on Hep to solve things like this? Or could we send them back with the next shuttle? They could have more space and facilities to work with as well. If not, what stuff will be handled by Hep people, and what by the Sword's scientists?

The scientists should have a pretty sweet life from now on, I think, since they can just do a couple tests, send data to Hephaestus, then sip drinks while they do the boring paperwork, mind-numbing R&D and crappy weapon design, then play rock-paper-scissors to determine who gets to sell off the original artifacts to Nyars for one token less than he sells them to us for. And the rest of the time they can just watch future science TV or whatever it is scientists do in their downtime.

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

I unno. Hep won't have that much to do without stuff coming to them.

Id still much prefer giving it to the R&D guys. Getting new tech is more important than making up things for the hep guys to do.
Seriously, if they cant find something to do on a forge world with free construction and access to all the specs on the new tech we discover they deserve to be bored.

or whatever it is scientists do in their downtime.

I invoke Mission 3, which was at a base full of scientists!

"Fuckin'... fucking fuckers. You ain't gonna catch me by surprise." Jim piled up all the remaining remains in one part of the room and attempted to turn them into ashes with his amplifier. Once that was done, he would turn his attention to the datapads and see if they had any more information about this audio-cure.
[exotic:2+1+1+1 (dang, lucky)] You concentrate on the pile of dismembered bodies and will them to burn, your foot tapping involuntarily as you do. The bodies smolder and burn like dry leaves, burning rapidly into a horrible mass of ashes, waxy fat and bones. You nod your head in satisfaction before returning to the datapads. You take a seat on one of the lower bunk beds and start scrolling through the data, looking for anything about the audio cure and the madness that was taking over the base. Most of the data pads are junk, just physics or personal journals or porn, god all the porn, but one of them talks about the mental illness that is effecting the base. Apparently it not only removes the survival instincts of the infected, but makes them completely incapable of realizing they're in danger. In later stages the infected actually become violent toward anyone who attempts to help them. The audio cure, a copy of which is on the data pad, is the only way to snap them out of it.
