Actually, there is one thing you can do: decay. If it takes them too long, your brain may be a bit damaged, or unrecoverable if memory serves...

I meant after bleeding out. At least you got into a mission, Locker Knight sacrificed himself to vanquish Ivan before he even got to a mission and Boots was killed in a fight over the TV remote. Kyle is comparatively fortunate considering that he isn't even temp-dead...

I don't think he's that fortunate. Those guys have something interesting to them. My guy got on a mission... and was promptly shot before doing anything interesting.

So? Presuming he survives he may go on to do something later. At the end of the day, you can't do anything except be thankful that you at least had that chance. Because not everyone does.

Jim for example was killed before he could even say much in Mission 1, so unless being surfed on by a teammate counts as a form of speech, you've said more lines than he did on his first mission.

If you really are so desperate to make your character "interesting", perhaps you could convince one of your more "creative" teammates to do something interesting with your soon-to-be-corpse?

Yes, being collapsed on the floor, dying of bloodloss tends to be so. Not much you can do about that except try to avoid it in future.
