I think ship-to-ship battles are supposed to be rather explosive and one of those is exactly what's going to happen. Everyone currently in the hijacked vessels should all just hope our giant cannon has better aim than our mortars.

And I just thought of another reason I regret not having my battlesuit. One of the limitations of the rainbow cannon is limited energy supply. So if I plugged the suit in the ships powergrid, I could spew forth red hot plasma and overcharged shots until there was nothing left flying or until the reactor runs dry.

Sean, modify your ships, we need one to have the capability to accept a Gilgamesh turret attachment! :P
I see no reason why we couldn't build a small gunship around that cannon. :P
On second thought, if I were feeling evil, I could just make a gunship shaped like a horse that Gilgamesh could ride into battle, cannon and all.

If I were feeling really evil, I could make Gilgamesh transform into a horse...

You transform Gilgamesh into anything equine related and I'll squeeze you out like a lemon and set fire to the remains.

And then I'll do it in-game, to!

If PW rolls in the same way he did for our mortars, without any bonuses, then no, our odds are just as bad (or maybe even worse). Let's hope the RNG is on our side this time around.

Obviously I wouldn't let Sean touch Gilgamesh without supervision. For one, turning him into a horse would ruin his paintjob. But having Gilgamesh ride a robotic horse would fit with Flint's theme.
And if it were going to give me more power, I'd ride a giant spiky altered.
Not in a sexual way.

And what is that game called and are all battles in it like that?

It's called ER, and most battles involve screaming and the fetal position.

I believe he meant the game in the link I posted (and the one you missed), and the game is Super Robot Taisen 2nd OG, part of a whole series of turn-based tactics games called Super Robot Taisen (or Super Robot Wars), which is mostly Japanese save for a few export or fan-translated variants. And yes, most battles in it are like that by the end. Well, rather that's the attack animation, the battles themselves are more like figures on a grid exchanging attacks, but the animations are the prettiest part of it.

I didn't miss the link, I know super robot wars all to well. I was attempting to make a joke, another failed attempt apparently.

One more and I get a free milkshake.

((I honestly don't remember how many ships were in that fleet, and I can't find where Steve answered that question, because I know I asked before. I seem to remember it being around a dozen or so?))

We should hope the surprise and shock effect as well as Steve's tactical abilities are used to great effect.

SPAAAAAAAACE BAAAAAAAATTLE!

Closure! Hooraay!

Question at PW:

how will you handle the thing with rookies and vets for missions? Will you continue mixing like before, or are you going to run a 'newbie only' mission, or what? Just curious.

D'Artagnan notices the VR rooms, and goes to them.

Ooh, a "duel" one.

Enter the duel program
Alright. Whatcha wanna fight?

Hey, Scotsmen!  Please, Please choose "Nyars".  I'd love to see how he fights.  And he's one of the few named characters that wouldn't kill you within five seconds.  Probably.
