Once upon the time, the forests of Japan were overharvested. Then they got their act together and now Japan is the most-forested First World nation in the world. The End.

Oh, right. Allright, just a little confused.
Still, that is (for the most part) not the "original" Japanese, but i under stand what you are saying.

What do you call people who come from Japan in the modern era?

I've recently started to call them Japs, but that's probably the worst way to call them. *shrug*
(also Japanese is harder than nails)

If you're Japanese and I call you a Jap, please don't take this offensively. I really do like Japan, from multiple points of view.

Nah, although like many terms originating from periods where we were at war with a given group, it's probably not an ideal one to use.

Let's create some sort of Calender/Time system.

I'm all for expansion and technological output, so when we eventually do find other groups, we'll be able to defend ourselves with ramparts and AK-47's.

send scouts to the north. We need to find a good source of flint and stone.

Oh, and +1 this

Keep expanding those fields, and diversifying those crops. Also construct a fishing weir as suggested, to get more protein in our diet.

Any other ideas, guys?
+1
Construct a map key. Some of it's obvious, a bunch...not. And it's only going to get more confusing as time goes on. I don't even know what the scale is.

Probably not a good idea, with lack of other people to declare war on. And when we meet people, we probably won't want to fight them immediately.

You know what is a good core? Promising everyone eternal afterlife happiness if they subscribe to our religious system, which of course will be intertwined with the government.

Aslong as that happiness is pork, onion and fish based.
