Modding dwarves so that they're made completely out of adamantine...

I haven't actually done it, but when I manage to figure out how mats work... Mark my words, I will! They'll be better than your silly cripples! MUAHAHA!
Not in unarmed combat they won't, unless they now have super OP scratches and bites

If your animals aren't expendable, you could always station a dwarf or two out there?

I don't know a whole lot about modding- but adamantine is super light, right? So, wouldn't virtually every enemy be able to fling them across the map?

Imagine the punches from a race of adamantium dwarves. I imagine fluffy wamblers wouldn't even be un-fluffed.

What would be more amusing would be to make everything but their bones out of adamantium. You couldn't cut them, but with enough fighting they would become sentient bags of bonemeal. With pulping, this may be even more amusing.

Interesting. Can just their skin be made of adamantium? Is there anyone who knows how to mod this?

I don't really know, I think you'd have to copy the properties for candy and then make it a new material for bodies, so it wouldn't be "Real" candy per se.

Also, they won't get flung across the map if you make a little of them out of slade :P

Use the body template from a bronze collosus. They are really really made of bronze.

Question, since you've been hacking off limbs I have a related question. Can dorfs with no limbs move? Do they worm/roll around? I mean legless dorfs crawl...

This needs to be the ultimate mega beast...perhaps Armok himself?

You wouldn't want to fight Armok himself. No doubt his primary attack would be to crash the game and delete your save folder.

I'm certainly going to recruit all the cripples into the militia now, maybe it will give some encouragement for them to stop causing so many damned cave ins!

What would it be like to live in a world that was copy/pasted? Would we even notice? If not, how many times have we switched celestial harddrives or whatever?

And lo did the great lord Armok smite his does with the might of the blue scene of death, and lo, they crumpled before him.  Without their save files, they were helpless against his awesome might.

Also, it's great that we managed to totally derail this thread.

Not too much of a derail: it is a discussion of unorthodox combat techniques, and it never specified that that couldn't include combat tactics used against your dwarves.

You guys are thinking too deeply. Armok Himself will simply release DF2014 and use the power of temptation to make you upgrade and forget about your current game. Remember, "to fight and conquer in all your battles is not supreme excellence; supreme excellence consists in breaking the enemy's resistance without fighting.
