Look for sticks or other materials to build a fire, and start one with the flint.
You use the magical flint to make a fire. It doesn't make smoke or make noise, just as Grot said it did in his rambling.
After Bouchart gathers the sticks and stuff, set it on fire with Explosive Pyre.
You throw explosive pyre at the already lit fire. You hit and it makes the flames go down a little bit and then it makes smoke and noise. It definatley is a lot smaller then before.
Agree and offer to take the dawn watch. Inspect the magic bedroll to see if I can figure out what it should do before sleeping on it.
Oh, and if Bouchart gets singed by the Explosive Pyre, use Lay on Hands to heal him back up.
You agree to take the last watch... (4) With nadarr. Second watch is (5) Symon with (2) Bouchart. Looks like Weston gets 8 hours of sleep.
The night goes rather smoothly, and the watch does as the dwarves say and keep the fire burning. (?) But as night draws to a close, you hear thunder in the distance; the storm is making its rounds again! Luckly, everyone is bundled up (+3 to resist cold, and another +2 for the fire) and their horses are tied.
Nadarr (5+1+5), Aurel (4+1+5), Bouchart (14+2+5), Symon (10+5+5), Weston (3+2+5), Karl (8-2+5), Grot (Crit).
Everyone except Grot, Symon and Bouchart are cold (-3 all defenses excluding AC, -5 to all checks). It is during the last watch, an hour before dawn when the storm takes full force and the fire goes out from the heavy rain and the wind. Darkness begins to take a hold over your camp. You can't see the horses and cart anymore, but you hear then whinnying.
Karl and Nadarr feel uneasy and try to relight the fire. Despite your efforts, wet wood does not light. Nadarr and Karl try and light torches and before Karl gets his light on, you all hear cackling in the night by what sounds like a thousand tortured souls. The torch lights and you hear screeching. Everyone wakes up and the night has began its assault on the party. But what you see at the edge of the light, you wish it was...
Grot sees them and grabs his short sword. He's already up and at em before anyone else is. He quickly lights his bullseye lantern he just bought and the light pierces the darkness. The figures resemble disfigured humanoids and animals on all fours. They all vary in size and they seem to hate the light. Everyone has enough time to grab their stuff before fighting starts... What do you do?
