((You're small, so you're grabbed in a sense. To everyone else , they aren't grabbed but take a penalty to their move speed (-2) and moving provokes an opportunity attack by the one latched to you.))

Jee wilikers, I think Highmax is near invulnerable, must have been dunked in the river styx like achilles was.
Just make sure he wears a boot.

You declare your oath on B8 and move up closer! You swing your flail with bond of retribution and hit! He screams in pain as you deal (1+3+5) damage! It smokes up as the wound you landed eats at its "flesh" and dies. As before, its body fades away and another enemy joins the fight (B17)!

B4 moves in and attacks Bouchart! He misses with his claws.

Grot begins his turn! He uses Sacred Flame on the shadow on top of Bouchart and hits! He screams and lets go of Bouchart as he grips at his face. He's in critical condition and Bouchart gains (1+1) temporary hitpoints. He uses a free action to drop the lantern (8), it falls over, and uses a minor to light a torch and moves closer towards Bouchart. It sheds bright light and the enemy begins to screech! The one on top of Bouchart drops dead and the others start smoking. Grot lets out a little shout as he sees their shapes fully now.

Nadarr begins his turn, followed by a wounded Bouchart.

((The torchlight seems to work, as the one that died when Grot moved closer with the torch didn't spawn a direct replacement. I'm sort of with USEC_OFFICER that I thought radiant damage would also do the trick, but no such luck.))

((Isn't radiant damage supposed to be light/holy damage? Wouldn't it work against these boogeymen?))

((Point is, fire seems to work where simple light doesn't. And since Explosive Pyre's damage area persists for a full combat round, one can assume that it should light the place up for a short time just like a torch.))

((I had to ask two other DMs about fire and if it gives light or not, and they said its a hosue rule. I decided it DOES give light, but not a lot (its more heat then light). Also, I think I failed to mention something; MANY started to screech in pain, not just the one on Bouchart))

Your idea starts off with taking two oppertunity attacks! One hits nad the other crits! You take (7+4) damage! ((I had to lower the damage dice again after I consulted other DMs who agreed I may have made them for a higher level encounter))

Your plan does SOMETHING. The shadows then begin to start smoking again in the light of the first shot! The second one shines and many start to drop dead; specifically the ones closest to you. YOu killed 6 with the second attack. The third kills another three, totaling to 9 kills in one turn, and 12 kills total.

Bouchart begins his turn.

((I... did not expect him to have that power.... ANd I also forgot my house rule as I did this and I ended up killing a bit more then I wanted, but after I did all the values, removed/added the next tokens, I couldn't really pinpoint which would die and which would live, so you guys get a few free kills. I may even have to increase the number you have to kill but keep the xp value you were gonig to gain.))

((I just lowered their xp value. IF you somehow kill more then the number needed, then great, you get more xp. Otherwise, the value is a little higher but you have to kill more still.))
