After walking for about 10 minutes, the group reaches a narrow trail, and the two natives of the area begin following it.

"Huh, well what do you know. A short walk and we get to a sign of civilisation...."

"We must be a lot closer to civilization than we thought if there's a well defined trail this close by. How did we miss this?"

Baffler, looking visibly uplifted, picks up his pace a little and starts whistling, then thinks better of it.

Even if you found a suitable opening, I doubt it would prove all too satisfying. And it might leave some nasty wounds, depending on the moral high ground's geology.

Baffler likes silver, walnut trees, the color green, tanzanite, and dogs for their loyalty. When possible he prefers to consume beef, iced tea, and cornbread. He absolutely detests ticks.

(10 minutes is still a bit of distance, mind you.)

The trail is faint and meanders heavily, seeming almost more like a game trail. It becomes more and more well-beaten as you go along, though. Those less-used to excercise begin to feel a soreness in their feet when you reach a small pile of stones, marking a wider trail that switchbacks up the steep slope before you.

"I hope that's the only hill we have to climb. Still, I'm really looking forward to seeing what these villages look like in person."

"This is a tiddler of a hill. Fortunately, this land is fairly flat, as far as i can tell, so this must be an oddity here.

Being thoroughly muddy after the recent storm, the updwards trail was worse than they thought. But after not too long, the group reached the top of the hill. As in the woods below, the trees were thick, muddling the view this height might otherwise give. This didn't immediately worry them, though, because something far more interesting met their eyes as they reached the top.

At the center of the hilltop was a mound marking a hole in the earth, covered by a dilapidated wooden hatch. Next to this hatch was a very large and equally dilapidated skeleton. Whatever it was, it certainly wasn't human. It seemed almost humanoid, but there seemed be 2 extra limbs coming out of the ribcage. The skull was a bizarre shape, and seemed to have 3 eye sockets.

Cish noticed the others looking at the bones. "Ikem, e slodi." He raised his arms over his head, hooked his fingers, and snarled. "Rawr!" He stepped to the side, and turning to face where he stood before, mimed a sword and stabbed the air in front of him. Then, stepping back, rolled his eyes back, gagged, and drew his finger across his throat. "Muthro Ikem, Muthro slodi. Rongquan e umon usmen."

"I think he is miming that someone killed it, but its already a skeleton so it must have been dead for quite some time already, unless something ate the flesh..."

"Looks like a strangler, they have four arms, right? They weren't too much of a threat in game, but seeing it now..."

(They're about 2/3 the size of an adult human according to the wiki, but they do have 3 eyes and 4 arms. Just a guess, really.)
