Erils gulps and rubs his neck.

"Well I hope we don't meet a live one."

(They're about 2/3 the size of an adult human according to the wiki, but they do have 3 eyes and 4 arms. Just a guess, really.)

((So about Elf size Yet taller than Dwarves?))

"Really would not want to meet one of them...."

"Hmmm, if he said it was killed recently, could it have been killed by elves if it is stripped of flesh?"

"It could just have been eaten by wolves, we all know how common those are."

Cish didn't seem to understand why the others were dawdling, and began tapping his foot.

"Whatever it was, we should probably keep going so it doesn't find us too."

Erils thinks for a second.

"I know Elves eat meat, but are they cannibals?"

(Well, the skeleton being "dilapidated" is kinda a hint of its age. Not a very good or apparent one, I'll admit.)

The trail switchbacked down the other side of the hill. Going up a switchback, much less a muddy one, was hardly anyone's idea of a good time. Going down a muddy switchback, however, turned out even worse. At one point, Rakbin lost his footing, bumping into Kari. She tumbled down slope and landed with a splat! on the muddy path 5 feet below.

Erils runs (if stumbling on a muddy path can even be called running) to Kari and tries to help her up.

"You okay there?"

Baffler walked along with his head in the clouds, carefully picking his way down the muddy slope. The view from the top of the hill had been spectacular, a panorama of trees that stretched on for miles. The view on the way down was of his own muddy boots and the tracks in the mud from the rest of the party. Why did the path have to wind down like this... And what was that old hatch up there? They didn't seem too worried about it. Was it the lair of whatever that dead thing was? Maybe someone...

A shout from Rakbin startled Baffler out of his musings, and he was just in time to see Rakbin stumble and bump into Kari, sending her tumbling down and into the mud. Moving as quickly as he dared, Baffler caught up with Kari and Erils.

"That's some bad luck there. At least we're nearly to the bottom."

Even if you found a suitable opening, I doubt it would prove all too satisfying. And it might leave some nasty wounds, depending on the moral high ground's geology.

Baffler likes silver, walnut trees, the color green, tanzanite, and dogs for their loyalty. When possible he prefers to consume beef, iced tea, and cornbread. He absolutely detests ticks.

"Ah, yes, i think so" Kari says, trying to get her footing on the muddy trail, accepting Erils help. "Thanks" She smiles at him.

"Better get off this damn hill before we break something. Dont really feel like nursing a broken limb in a quasi-medieval setting."

They made their way down without further incident, glad to be back on a relatively flat, if still muddy, trail. The woods on this side of the hill was much the same as on the other, and currently that meant damp. The trail continued for about another two miles or so, before they came upon a wider path, and what was quite probably a signpost.

Erils looks at the signpost, attempting to make out any shapes such as arrows.

"Well, I really hope the sign doesn't say danger or something. Anyone able to read it?"

Cish and Rabkin only glance at the post before starting down the road, perhaps already knowing the way, but stop when they see the others trying to read the sign.
