We should examine our resources and see what it would take to build another (ideally very small) space ship with its own reactor and minor AI. We could then send it to scout the rest o the solar system.

- 1 to relocation
No-grav has too many perks to give up lightly

Get another production-facility going
The sooner we are able to churn out drones en-mass, the better. Be it defense, salvageing, scouting or further construction. Lets strip this system bare, I say ;3

Anyway, I vote we construct some mines on the asteroids we've already prospected, with supporting solar power. No point in battling the gravity of the moon when there's enough stuff up here. Also, asteroid base.

I still think we should build smaller scout ships to explore

Put one up in the que after the Construction drone is one, and then.

Your Fabrication Unit pumps out two more SCDs while the first sets about making the frame of the automated mine, when the other two SCDs join the first the construction speed picks up quite a bit and you feel the automated mine should be completed soon. Meanwhile your harvester drones finish taking one more shipment of resources from the same asteroid before turning their sight on another, leaving you with a slowly growing stockpile of resources though you feel the automated mine will take a fair amount of ores to be built. Surprisingly as your Harvesters survey the new asteroid they find it also has a deposit of chemicals in its core, seeing this you quickly change one of the drones from gathering advanced metals to harvesting the chemicals to shore up your current stockpile.

After that you turn your focus to other matters, foremost of them being the creation of scout drones which you scour your database for blueprints or even half made notes for one. In the end you find nothing, but as all hope is lost your processes come up with a conclusion, if you created an Orbital Lab you could take apart one of the Interceptor Drones, or Fighter Drones and use the knowledge gained from that to create entirely new drone designs not to mention you'll finally have access to weapon blueprints to work with ...

Some time passes as you allow your Fabrication Unit to finish producing the last pair of SCDs, as it grinds to a halt you examine the progress on the Automated Mine and find that two drones should be enough to finish it up leaving you three to switch over to another task. With that thought you set about rethinking how to proceed ...

We should figure out how to build those ships, right?

If you want to, and if you don't you don't have to, its up to you guys. You can make those scouts if you build a Orbital Lab and disassemble one or more of your ships for the tech stored in them, of course you could also opt to just send out one of your existing combat drones or even one of the harvester/building ones.

Eventually, yes.

So:
2 droids => Finish the mine
3 droids => Build Research installation (or power if needed for the mine)

Let's do some sweeps with the radar, and build some more construction droids.
