Meanwhile, on the list of heroes that DONT have terrifying kits on other heroes is Visage. Holy shit I never realized how hard his slow carried the rest of his kit. The only other skill that he has that's even worth consideration is his nuke.

played an ad game, ursa base, picked laguna blade, got level 5 dagon, dopple walked up to enemy enchantress, instagibed. was fun running around with a base 510 movement speed, shame it ended in defeat because it was 3 vs 5

Yeah, Flame Arrow, Impetus, Viper's Poison Spit (can't remember the name) all retain their base character's range as the case range, making you essentially a hybrid. Sniper's Take Aim does work for melee, increasing your base range accordingly.

It can make for some seriously "what the hell" moments.

Yeah. All orb effects give you the hero's normal range, then any additional modifiers like Take Aim are factored in. So you could have a melee like Tusk with Psi Blades, Take Aim, and Impetus hitting your ancient from the safety of his fountain.

Or Sniper's Take Aim and Enchantress's Impetus. If you autocast Impetus, it uses your normal attack range. Now you too can throw Impetus shots from ~1000 range, enjoying 250 pure damage per attack!

Windranger's Focus Fire is great with proc chance skills, though. I believe it's currently bugged, so orb effects have an unmodified proc chance. Give her Bash, or Time Lock, and watch people rage at the permastun.

My friend ran sniper with take aim and impetus.

You'd think that'd be bad enough, 1000 range impetus.

Oh no, he didn't stop there.

He got untouchable and spell shield.

So he was immortal and did 600 damage per hit.

Btw, it seems that melee heroes which take range boosting skills in ability draft retain their identity as a melee hero, and thus items like orb of venom will have their melee effect applied rather than ranged.

I haven't tried this with battle fury, so I'm not sure if melee heroes with take aim can cleave at range..

Since they retain their identity as a melee hero, I'm fairly sure the cleave from Battlefury should still work.

I had a fairly dirty game with Queen of Pain, using Grow (Tiny's ultimate), Blink Strike (Phantom Assassin's blink to target and get attack speed), Windrun (Windrunnerranger's 100% evasion and increased movespeed), and Broodmother's webs for a throwaway skill.

Getting Aghanims on that did appear to have Tiny's cleave function on a base ranged hero. We ended up ending it so quickly that I didn't even get a chance to get crits or a hyperstone.

flame lasso + rocket barrage...very fun combo

Saw a couple of fun combos last night, not exactly game winning, but fun.  There was an Anchor Smash and Aftershock combo, and then there was a Blink with Rocket Barrage.  Early game they rocked pretty hard, but of course late game was a pretty big face stomp.

Games that I had though, I ended up playing a Dragon Knight who had Frost Arrows, two passives that I can't quite remember, and then Overgrowth (Treant Ult if I mixed up the names).  Gameplay was me pressing Q (Frost Arrows), clicking on any enemy, and then watching them get slowed to a crawl from 600 range.  Repeat process for fun!  Ended up buying an Orchid and a BKB because the other team had some nasty combos.  It's been a while, I'll check the replay stuffs when I get home.

FAKE EDIT:  Those ranged attack orbs are so strong and I love them on melee heroes dearly.

We got 140,000,000 damage on it. Had about 10 minutes remaining, but we didn't have enough ingots to push through.
