There's a practice mode. Basically, whatever you've earned in ingots become gold and that's what you get to fight something similar to the rosh fight at the end of diretide, but only 5 people and he's a fair bit harder.

Also, meepo is broken as hell in that. If one of them dies, all of them do, and whichever one the game processes as dying last is the only one that can be revived. If it's a clone meepo, you're shit out of luck.

I'm personally disappointed in it. You had to pay money or grind way too much to get a respectable number of ingots, and by the time I managed to get home (midnight EST) they had patched out the ability to use Ursa's Fury Swipes or N'aix's Feast, as well as put a cooldown/stock count on firework mines and the ring of "stop the beast" items.

Valve really needs to get their shit together before letting people play one way, then saying "No you can't do that" and preventing others from doing so as well. Do they even playtest this stuff anymore? I can understand Ability Draft, because there are way too many potential combinations of spells, but in this you're going in with well known heroes.

Yeah, the change really kind of pissed me off too. It gave the people who played within the first few hours a massive (unbeatable if done properly) advantage over everyone else.
Honestly, it would have been trivial to fix these things: Either A) run it for a few hours before the main event starts with only practice mode on (and then look at composition of the top 5% of plays, and figure out the exploits they probably use and fix them), B) Let the exploits stay in. It pisses me off that some people are getting such a huge advantage for simply logging in 6 hours earlier then I did, or even C) Put the post patch people in another bracket (which could still be done, but probably won't be).

But the way they did it is simply unfair.

Don't forget the main thing we got was AD and two heroes as well as a fairly substantial balance patch that finally removed the nuisance of Imba Spirit.

By the way, if you guys haven't had the chance to try out Ogre Magi's new aghs upgrade, you should give it a shot.

It's really awesome. He needs nothing now except for Aghs.

Just had my first real hard carry Sven match. Not my first match playing Sven, but my first match where I went "Holy shit, last teamfight was us barley holding on, and the one before was us getting teamwiped (at which point we though we lost), this teamfight I solo killed everyone in 4 seconds".
Somewhat predicatably, it came when I got a crystalys, and instead of my cleave doing a respectable amount of damage, it just turned them into mush.
After that point it was all downhill for them, since that got me a daedalus, which then let me pretty much wipe their whole team every fight pretty much on my own.

I'll admit, it's not an original .gif. I like to think of it as classic, not 'overused' or 'cliché'.  ;)

On-topic: has anyone tried out the new 6.80 Broodmother? I've heard a lot of complaints about how she's useless now... but she's still better than 6.78 and before, right? I've never been good at managing Broodlings, so I haven't tried her in a non-bot game.

Well, here's the changes between 6.78 and 6.8:
Quote
6.80
Can no longer leave the map boundaries
Spin Web no longer provides 200 vision
Free pathing is now removed when enemies have vision over you

6.79
 Spin Web
AoE increased from 650 to 900.
Cast range increased from 600 to 1000.
Cast point nerfed from 0.2 to 0.4.
 No longer destroys trees.
Broodmother now has completely unobstructed movement when under the web (can walk over cliffs, trees, etc).
Removed buffer time when leaving Spin Web (you now immediately lose your regen/movement/pathing/invis bonuses).

And... I'unno, that does feel like a nerf to me. No more vision on web, free movement nixed if someone can see you, immediate loss of any web buffs on leaving the web... the free pathing sounds nice, and cliffwalking obviously has its uses, but losing the tree destruction means spin web is less useful to the team (on top of no longer providing vision!). You basically gain (situational, since you probably wouldn't be able to use it escape. Even dust would nix it.) cliffwalking and lose... everything but the movement and regen buffs, and those are notably nerfed by losing the buffer on web exit. Sounds like a net loss to me.

She's pretty trashy right now.

Still kinda annoying to catch, but as long as you have dust, she can't go anywhere. However, sentry wards and the vision orb thingy don't work very well.

You'd think they'd work, but she still has that ludicrous movespeed in her webs, so she easily darts in and out of your vision, after which she just can move through trees again.

But if you dust her she's fucked.

Basically, she's really shitty until she either gets Manta or Diffusal to purge the dust.

And Diffusal would mostly be a waste due to her passive counting as an orb effect that overrides others.

Though not something you have to worry about in most public games until you become a threat. The large majority of people would apparently rather die to you than buy wards or dust early on.
