I also want myself a human.  :) Any adult dwarf human if it's possible. If male, name him "Komodo Dragon". If female, call her "Iguana". Thank you in advance!

20th Galena, 195

Galka ran into a kobold, and it is now in a state of slight holy-ness.

Some of the others have been talking about going further down into the caves through that passage down we found the other day when we accidently breached them. Not sure if we should or not.

21st Galena, 195

Where the hell did that rat come from!? Good gods that's a big bitch!

No matter, I'll deal with it myself.

And such a huge vermin proved to be a martial disappointment.

-

When I was informed of that giant rat, the glazer also informed me of two things. First, was that the elk bird flock.... herd.... I'm not sure which to use, anyway, was about to spill over our current means of capturing them, and of some kind of freakish cave ogre.

After the overflow of elk birds and that thing are dealt with, I'm going to grab some of the new folks and assigning them to permanent guard detail down there. Don't want things slipping into the settlement causing havok and killing people after all.

-

Might not have to kill the birds so long as we have the means to catch them. On to three already; seems we may have nabbed the heads of the flock/herd. And that albino abomination proved no challenge.

But I won't complain. Another kill to my name.

25th Galena, 195

Tarkis threw a party for the hell of it. Good for morale and since there's no pressing concerns, I don't give a fuck.

---

So a very short update, mostly to go with the humanization updates.

That is rather disturbing.  :P

Pity we can't really keep the Elk Birds. Damn [GRAZER] token.  >:(

We could still try for War Buzzards though.

I'm also very pleased to see more people poking their heads into our little town.  :)

Well, we could always put it to a vote to remove the token from subterranean critters for the purposes of domesticating them, or reduce their grazing needs enough to permit the same, since I'm almost positive that we're the only ones with access to cavern wildlife right now besides kobolds.

I think we've officially been the first race in this world to capture nine elk birds and two crundles without incident. Proto has been put in charge of taming them and been given the custom title of Beast Tamer, due to him having been the only one not busy at the moment either partying or storing wood/stone/building workshops/sparring

On the upside if we manage to domesticate them and breed a large number they'll provide us with all the eggs we could ever want.

Plus red tide of crundles will be handy for absorbing enemy bolts/arrows.

I remember from one of my previous mod binges that they make a great chicken replacement. I modded out the [COMMON_X] tags so that each race only had what was in their biomes, modded all exotics to normal pets and made crundles appear on layer 1, made some of the bigger beasts appear lower to avoid starting with giant cave spiders. War Crundles are surprisingly effective and they breed like rats.

I nearly domesticated them (as well as draltha and elk birds) in a glacial fortress. Had to mod out grazing though to pull that off and due to the high number of females in the first bunch there were tons of dralthas.

Dralthas make fantastic livestock when you adjust the grazer token on them. Elk Birds tend to be a bit lackluster in my experience, but I suppose they make a nice egg/meat animal when you don't have goats and sheep.

We could have caught something worse. I can't think of anything worse to catch than a crundle, but I'm sure there is. Okay, maybe not. They don't even give their horns when butchered because they are so small. Not much meat or bones from them either. Worst part is that they can't actually breed, since they are missing their child token.

But they can lay up to twenty eggs, which is actually pretty high. Not too many things lay that many, and they sure aren't as readily available as crundles. Bit of a grab bag though, since their minimum amount of eggs is five.

Dralthas end up starving, in my experience. Their grazing token is set pretty low, almost to the point of being as endangered as an elephant.

Hey guys, I just wanted to let you know two things.

1. I changed elk bird and draltha grazing values to those of goats so we can try to domesticate them without them keeling over on us.

2. Highmax and Blackflyme are now axelords.
