Turn 3

Salqwar

Exploration of the system proceeds splendidly. Meanwhile, on Norgal the population continues to grow.

Ocelotl Empire

Our scout fleet manages to explore Solidus, revealing a mostly stable and fairly fertile ecosystem. The fighters also attempt an exploration of Fat men, but can't identify anything. They did rule out the possibility of intelligent indigenous lifeforms.

Our research team again reports  no successes, but they do mention they're on the verge of a breakthrough.

A wave of missiles is unleashed onto the barren planet. Large parts of the surface are bombarded, evaporating masses of stone and ice, and giving the planet a rudimentary atmosphere. There are some sideffects to this bombardment however, as the planet is now faintly irradiated. Despite the military success, the research team has no solid theories on terraforming yet.

Likewise, the shipbuilding research is unsuccessful. Practically, the larger amount of government investment in civilian infrastructure has resulted in some economical growth in the region, though critics say that the early connection of Biggurk to the interplanetary economy can be damaging for long term development.

The scout group identifies one of the planets.

The Arresyll Command

Researchers finally report success in the ship and law modifications needed to allow successful civilian trade. These have been implemented, and economic growth is already increasing.

On Yllidr, scientifically interesting phenomena have been discovered. Study of them is currently underway.

The scout ends up in a small protoplanetary system. There're many rich asteroids flying around a weak sun, but no planets of interest.

The mining fleet is currently picking up speed, and mineral production is well under way.

The Kroec Confederate

The exploration of Dara reveals a stunning discovery. A small, frigate sized ship was found hidden amidst the Darian wilds. It was quickly secured, and appeared to be an automated craft. Shortly after dismanteling attempts started, 4 ships entered the system. They're Destroyer sized, and heading straight for Dara. Their intentions are unknown, and they refuse all hails. Energy signatures suggest they're arming weaponry.

Can fleets explore other star systems without scout groups with lesser effectiveness?

Name the 6 Biosphere planet Haden.
Use money to purchase a colonizer group (on Irris), send it to establish an outpost on Haden.
Have one scout group each explore the habitable moons.
Use money to retrofit that station.

Most ships are not designed to operate in atmosphere. Aside from that, you can certainly try, though results might not be so nice.

Does unsuccessful research get accumulated from turn to turn? Also, do military technologies that don't use up slots get included automatically in ships?
Have the scout group and escort explore the gas giant with the sensor obstruction. Carefully.
Continue looking for colonisable planets in the home system (-5 Science)
Continue research into Academic Analysis Programs (improves research by allowing fast and effective searching of research databases and journals by a number of criteria) (-15 Science)

Have exploration group explore Fat Man thoroughly

All military ships return to Ocelotl to await deployment when needed.

Dedicate half of my science to pursue the breakthrough regarding food

Dedicate the other half of my science to searching for signs of intelligent life.

Fully explore Vera and then upgrade.(-19 research -11 money)

Use mine ships on Kori. (The closest planet to the sun in my system.

Gather the fleet. Use the heat concealers to hide the approach as long as possible. Destroyers should not fire unless fired upon. When close enough to board. Use the boarding teams. If any ship need to destroyed in this struggle. Its according to the way of the Kro, and the crew will die with honour.

Study the relic ship

The Aresyll Command

"Phenomena. A deliciously open word." - "There is very little definite to say about them right now, Commander. Right now, we are working under the assumption that these phenomena might be the reason for our inability to cultivate the crystals on the moon..." - "Tempting as that thought is, that would require similar phenomena on Iraradk, wouldn't it? What are the chances of that?" - "We will take efforts to search  Iraradk for similar phenomena soon, Commander. It is a more comforting thought than the possibility that we do not know something unique, hidden, about our own home world."

Explore Yllidr
Research those phenomena (if that helps)
Advance Yllidr to settlement, unless that interferes with researching the phenomena.
Create a second mining group
Scout group with frigate scout for another  system

Turn 4

Salqwar

In a daring move, Murgh used a large part of his personal fortune to finance the construction of a new colony on Haden. A considerable effort was made by merchants and other civilians in moving the infrastructure required for the construction of the colony. As a result, prices for interplanetary cargo transport have raised considerable, resulting in an increased supply cost for most scientific outposts.

The moons have been scanned. Results are added to the data log.

Random event: Scientific breakthrough [+5 science]

Ocelotl Empire

Have exploration group explore Fat Man thoroughly

Dedicate half of my science to pursue the breakthrough regarding food

Dedicate the other half of my science to searching for signs of intelligent life.

Exploration of Fat man reveals yet another small, but mostly stable ecosystem. Ore levels are decent, and no strange objects are reported.

Advanced food production techniques have finally been perfected, boosting agricultural output on all developed worlds. These new practices should be beneficial to our population growth.

Scientists think they have found evidence of jump drives being used in a "nearby" star system. They suggest investigation.

Random Event: A short lived but deadly plague has terrorized Ocelot. While the danger is gone now, it slowed down population growth.

Otram Boream alliance

Research into cheapening shipbuilding progresses well. It's found that dedicated orbital infrastructure could decrease costs by almost 10%. You would need to build it first however, and it won't come cheap. (Orbital drydock added to ship modifications)

The group jumps, and ends up in a small system containing only 3 planets. On first sight, they don't look that habitable.

Random event: A major corruption scandal unfolds on Tarnish. A small group of now traceless politicians managed to embezzle a massive fortune (-5 credits)

The Arresyll Command

The Yllidr phenomena are sadly not related the crystal trees, but appear to be a result of the planet's unique magnetical field. This discovery doesn't provide much benefit on itself, but the infrastructure constructed to research the phenomena will be of significant aid to the growing scientific community on Yllidr.

Another mining group has left the docks recently. Meanwhile, the other mining group is well on it's way of strip mining Ore. (I accidently doubled mining income for some time. My bad.)

The scout group and associated frigate end up jumping into empty space. Their sensors do pick up evidence of unusual radio emissions in a nearby system. They request permission to investigate.

Random event: Mining fleet uncovers unexpectedly rich ore layer. (+10 Industry)

Food: 7.25
Industry: 21.5 (+8.5)
Science: 40 (+20)

The Kroec Confederate

Exploration of Vera reveals a network of underground caves, suitable for habitation, farming and mining. This will hugely benefit eventual colonization and terraforming of the planet.

The relic ship appears to be an unarmed scout. It's fully automated, includes numerous sensor suites, and some kind of long range transmission system. Whatever drive system it used in unrecognizable. The rest of it's systems are still active.

Spoiler: Conflict (click to show/hide)

Food: 9
Industry: 16.8 (+8.55)

Rethacal

The obstruction appears to be artificial in origin, and origination from one of moons. In it's orbit is a large station, which appears abandoned and is heavily damaged.

Another planet has been scanned.

The academic analysis program has been finished.
