EDIT: Images fixed, once again. I'll be dwarving moseythepirate as well. You'll be glad to know that I've picked literally the first dwarf I've come by, but at least he owns a bedroom.

I'm also starting bookkeeping, since my skills have no uses anymore, I can as well take the job. I have dug out new farming areas for seeds (we have a bazilion PH spawns) and a kitchen up there for roasting seeds (the reaction takes 25 seeds, and you have to carry each one at a time, imagine the pain). We are on drinks shortages, too. Clerics better start praying.

UPDATE: First berskerk, a glassmaker in the dining room hallway. He got impaled by a dozen mithril javelins by a hunter passing by. Deeves went berserk too, he apparently chased a moleweasel then got attacked by the same ranger. Stay tuned.

Moseythepirate just died of thirst. Worse, a yak calf starved to death, I guess he was too elitist for snowy grass.

We've just been gifted with a goblin-in-a-cage. Sweet. You know what? I'm releasing him.

I declared Meph winner, ordering him to get the hell out of the fortress. He answered by going berserk. I was beating the hell out of a shearer, but then I got hit by javelins in the back the guy bite my head off. As for you, Meph, you got seemingly killed by a wooly mountaing goat kid's horns. But I must congratulate, you not only took down a baby and a gem cutter with your copper pick, but you killed the hunter guy who had javelins, incessantly pickaxing him while being impaled by his javelins.

Yes, kind of, but they're all nameless redshirts now. We might want to seal everyone in and let them just die, then let the next migration wave in.

I already did that on the copy I kept, an alternate universe in which Meph went off the deep end and walled herself into the cathedral with most of the food, silver and furniture. With no knowledge that her lover and all her friends are dead- along with the delusion that if they died it wouldn't be her fault- she lived like a god-queen for about a year-and-a-half until she was murdered in her opulent throneroom by the ghost of CaptainLambcake.

I'm not good with the concept of "long-term".

But in the interest of good storytelling, I would suggest at least checking for brewable surface plants or something before just giving up on saving them. Maybe try making bloodwine? Should have plenty of moleweasels for that.

You make bloodwine by extracting blood from meat, and then distilling it at the still.
