Hey guys, just a quick status update for the current games I'm in - I apologize for not being able to post the past 2 weeks (I've been in Germany) and would like to inform you I will have very limited connection for at least the next two (As I tour Italy). Once I'm back in the States and with a frequent Wifi access i can resume normal posting times.


And notice to here - awwwww, I'm too late to give notice. Would said mystery player happen to be a certain person with the letters N, E, R, J, I, and N in their name? And would they happen to sometimes masquerade as a GM?

Overwatch with rifle.

Anyway, yeah, this "mystery player" can go ahead for awhile, as my absence will continue for a little bit.

MYSTERY PLAYER HAS APPEARED!!!

And oh my gosh, what have you done to my Ali!!! She never suffered more than 10 hp damage under my watchful eye!

''Mark!'' Ali watched the carnage, but surrounded by infected, hurting in places she didn't know could hurt and through her tears, she uses her dual pistols and... well... shoots in panic.

Crouches (if not already)
Shoots at random targets for all but the last turn. (by random, I meant infected random! Just thought it was important to add that in here...)
Last turn, enters overwatch.

(not the best of turns, but a: I need to catch up a bit, and b: it totally fits! I took one look at that map and just went... holy crap, I'd be in a panic if not outright comatose )

The hordes of commons streaming towards the pipe-bomb didn’t matter.

The fact that everyone he knew and loved was dead didn’t matter.

The sound of the others attempting to avenge Mark didn’t matter.

The Charger tossing Mark’s body aside as if it were an empty soda bottle didn’t matter.

All that mattered to Damon was a small set of Orange paddles that slid away from Mark’s body.

Difibrillators… Damon had seen them restart hearts before at conventions. He played enough video games to know that a defibrillator might well be Mark’s only chance.

Dashing to grab them, and ignoring the weapons that were overtop of it, Damon hopped over the now dead body of the charger and began charging the Difibrillator like he’d seen it done countless times in games.

“Work damn it!”

*ZAP*

Mark was still…

“You’re not taking Mark!”

*ZAP*

“Damon…” Ugly Jim said sadly “Mark’s gone.”

“NO! NO ONE ELSE DIES!”

*ZAP*

“NO ONE ELSE DIES!”

“No one… No one…” The paddles ceased working. Their charge lost forevermore, just like Mark.

“No one else…” Damon felt smooth blood leak from his eyes. It was clear… They weren’t tears.

“No one…” Damon pressed the paddles against Mark again.

“Come on kiddo… If we make it… He didn’t die in vain.”

“You’re… You’re right Jim. We’ll make it Mark. I just… I wish I could do something for him  you know?”

“Where’s the Blacksmith?” A small voice came from the ground.

“Wh-what?” Damon stuttered turning around only to see Mark slowly rising from the ground as if he were Frankenstein’s Monster.

“Wheeere’s the Blaaaaaacksmiiiithhhhh?”

“What’s he doing?” Clair asked eyeing the rising youth warily.

Once Mark drew himself up to his full height he shouted “IT’S ALIIIIIIIIIIIVE!!!!!” with his hands stretched towards the sky.

Seconds passed in near silence, with only the noise of the pipe-bomb to make any difference.

“You were awake after the first shock weren’t you?” Damon deadpanned.

“… Maybe…”

The survivors watched with an odd fascination at the infected simply crowding around the pipe-bomb. Seemed like a large enough supply of pipe-bombs against the horde would be more than enough to end the infection. Aside, of course, from the obvious problems that the special infected didn’t seem particularly interested in loud noises.

“So Mark…” Clair asked as she inspected her rifle.

“Yeah?” Mark replied after letting lose a short burst which cost a single infected its unholy life.

“What was it like being dead?”

“I wasn’t dead.”

“What do you mean?”

“I was… Mostly dead. See, there’s a difference between mostly dead and all dead. You can fix mostly dead. With all dead well… I guess there’s only one thing you guys could have done.”

“What’s that?”

“Search my pockets for loose change.”

“I… You’re quoting something aren’t you?”

“I might be.”

“Was that the Princess Bride?”

“You seem a decent fellow. I hate to kill you.”

With a smile Clair replied “You seem a decent fellow. I hate to die.”

*BOOM*

“Oh hey the pipe-bomb went off!” Clair said as some part that neither her nor Mark could identify.

“JIM!” Came Melody’s shout.

“Wait, what?” Mark asked craning to attempt to get a better look.

“I’m fine… I’m fine.” Ugly Jim said. Surprisingly, despite being on the ground, he appeared to be just that.

“What happened?” Mark shouted to the other group.

“Got a little too close. Can’t seem to stand up. It doesn’t hurt though.” There was a moment of silence “Yeah, there’s no shrapnel or bleeding. I guess the blast was too much for me in this state. We need to find a safe-room so we can rest. We’ve been getting the everything knocked outta us.”
