Lyle flinches a little when Mallory says 'fucking'.
He never did like that word.

"Oh. Does it only work with anger, or could you.. happy something away, too?"

Mallory thought about it for a moment before shaking his head, "Eh, it's doubtful. I mean, it may work but as funny or sad as it sounds I've never been happy enough to test it. I've uh..... I've got a lot of stuff that keeps me able to be angry..."

ICARUS puts Hainuwele down, then flies into the sky to survey the lay of the land. Using her night-vision mode and her 150X optical zoom, the darkness should not be much of a hindrance. What is east, west, south, north?

North: To the north is the castle that everyone left, with brown fields and wasteland beyond that.

West & East: ICARUS spots several small villages, farms and castles to the east and west. A majority of them seem abandoned or destroyed.

South: The view to the south is similar to the west and east, with villages and castles scattered about, but after several kilometres the forest is covered in a thick fog that ICARUS's sensors can't seem to penetrate.


It is now morning, and Kelyn is packing up to leave.

Grandiose finally joins them. He has been keeping a vigil on the group making sure to alert them if anything happened. He also doesn't need to sleep. That's a thing.

Sen shows up finally. She was still at the castle having found a few books to read. She fell asleep there.

[Akroma]

what's this, mysterious magical fog? South it is!


"Anomaly detected. Likelyhood that the grail is to the south: Higher than the likeylhood of it being east, west or north from this location."


ICARUS tries to lead the group to the center of the fog.

"I don't really know much about that legend, who's this fisher dude?"

"Brilliant deduction, Icarus."


"He's a minor character in Arthurian legend who, like many minor characters, doesn't receive a ton of description. He also doesn't have many traits kept across various sources, and given all we've seen so far I don't think I'd trust the legends without Artorius backing them up."

"Well, do the legends say anything about forests covered in thick fog? Maybe it could give us a heads-up on what guards the grail?. Like, is it just one of those labyrinth-fogs that leave you wandering in circles, or is there monsters, or something?"

[USEC_OFFICER]

ICARUS tries to lead the group to the center of the fog.

Kelyn follows ICARUS, her shoulders hunched, "We should keep an eye out for ambushes..."

"Scanners impeded by fog, chances of noticing an ambush lowered. Tuning microphones to maximum sensitivity to pick up ambushes via audio clues."

That is to say, ICARUS listens carefully.

[Twi]

Twi awakens.

"Right, then. You guys keep quiet. I can't really, but I'm made of metal and hard to kill. Hopefully, if there is an ambush, they'll waste their first strike on me."

That is to say, Bismuth on meatshield duty again.

Meanwhile, Marie takes to the trees again, the only sound the occasional rustling of branches and soft flutter of wings as she watches over the group.

Kyle walks along side Kelyn tossing her a sidelong glance.

"Scanners impeded by fog, chances of noticing an ambush lowered. Tuning microphones to maximum sensitivity to pick up ambushes via audio clues."

That is to say, ICARUS listens carefully.

The forest is... strangely quiet, with no sounds of wildlife or anything along those lines. After an hour or so of travelling, ICARUS's microphones pick up the faint sounds of dogs barking.

That is to say, Bismuth on meatshield duty again.

Neferis joins Bismuth on meatshield duty.

Kyle walks along side Kelyn tossing her a sidelong glance.

Kelyn has her eyes fixed on the path ahead.

"Canines ahead. How shall I proceed?"

"Canines ahead. How shall I proceed?"

"Are you sure they're dogs?" Kelyn asks, taking out her bow and stringing it.
