Judging by the pictures provided, you're right! They shouldn't have sufficient range to fly from Argentina to the Vatican. In fact, they shouldn't be able to take off!
The fact that they're flying shows that they obey the typical laws of aircraft about as well as Kyle's flying armor.

I suggest you sign up to Gaiden v2 as a start. I mean, I like magic girls, but the plot is very thick for you to get into.

I wouldn't call it very thick. Actually, It's incredibly thin and flimsy, merely spread over an absurdly large quantity of posts.
