Yup, seems nice.

Not going to buy it till I upgrade my PC though. It had troubles with X:3 already, and is significantly below min specs for this game. Poor build in graphics card.

Hmm... since it seems nice and i'm pretty behind the times when it comes to hardware lore (in the olden times you could assume that  the graphics card with less memory had lower performance and the processor with the most mgh was usually faster.

Nowdays tho?
How the hell am i supposed to know if the six core amd i bought several months ago can run it.
I might sound stupid but the AMD "six core" i bought is apparently a quad core (or dual core i don't remember) with some virtual cores or something...

Damn i wish appaising hardware was easy like it was those 10 years ago...

That's what I have !

I admit I'm not as well informed on hardware as I have been in the past either, mostly because I was subscribed to video game magazines from about 2000 to 2006, but since then I only read about hardware when I'm about to upgrade.

AMD doesn't have virtual cores, you might be thinking of Intel's Hyperthreading.

If your CPU is an AMD FX it has 6 cores, but 3 modules (2 cores in each module) which could be where you got confused.

It's not that hard. Just check with 3rd party benchmarks. Tom's Hardware is good for that, IIRC. You don't need to know how to read them other than "this one is better than the other" and judge by the relative gain on what is or isn't price effective. That's how I got my current rig, and it's very, very nice. Would be about $500 more expensive to buy this pre-made than what I spent for it, and nothing pre-made at the time (other than the ridiculous mega-machines) could beat it. It's about a year and a half to two years old, and not including monitor or speakers it's about $700 and still a high-end machine (current gen games on max settings, no FPS issues).

It's hyperthreading but with dedicated hardware for the extra threads.

Link broken, don't use quotation marks for the url. Easy to fix in the address bar, of course, but it's still going to error on the first go.

I just want to play this with the Oculus Rift, to be honest. I'm sure I could spend hours simply flying around. Hope it has support.
