Let try to find this Junction Three, which i think is out side.
Let try to find this Junction Three, which i think is out side.
Let's check the next floor up, first.
[2] You decide that the facility is worth exploring a bit more. But first, you check the
pod rooms.
They seemed to be as well secured as the previous rooms. Less worn, too. You decide it is not worth the time to get into any of them.
Forging ahead, you walk up the stairs to the next level, only to find a
blast door blocking your way. A small screen to the side of the door was actually still functioning.
'1/3 KEYS ACCEPTED', it reads. A keycard slot was nearby. Without the necessary keys, you figure you won't be able to go any further. So you go back to the atrium, where the multiple dead bodies lie, rotting. The doorway entices you with promises of freedom and sunlight...
It takes a few moments for your eyes to adjust to the sunlight. It's bright... really bright. Far brighter than you remember the sun being. Once your vision acclimates, you find a desolate wasteland waiting to greet you. The earth was dry, grey-yellow and cracked. Giant black stones jutted from the surface, tearing the ground apart, menacing with sharp edges. Looking back, you see the facility tower over you. A plain, grey building without windows. The only defining feature is the giant yellow 12 painted on the surface. You stand upon cracked asphalt. A parking lot, maybe? A road leads away from the lot, straight ahead to the flat horizon.
To your surprise, you find an actual
vehicle. Though it's not a pretty sight. It looks like a military patrol vehicle, heavily modified and 'decorated'. It's wrapped in barbed wire, keeping several desiccated bodies securely attached to its surface. Black spikes stick out of its exterior, mainly in the front. The windows are full of bullet holes and cracks. In several places, plastic, metal, and other material has been bolted to its surface haphazardly. To reinforce or to repair, you're not sure which. You can hear the engine still running.
