"Well, if you want to know what I have, listen up.  I've got a collapsible rail rifle, which has served me well for quite some time.  I've also got this little beauty here.." Lokk-Agar pulls out his serrated long-knife.  "This isn't anything special, but it will slice you open like a ripe fruit if you get close enough.  I've also got a couple of smoke grenades, to provide cover if necessary, and a couple of arc grenades, which are useful for stunning people and disabling machinery.  As well as all the physical stuff you see here, I also have a rather nifty fire spell, though I would rather save that if possible for a rainy day."
He then turns to Flit.  "Also, I agree with Turgid over there.  If I've got to die, I'd rather go down fighting."

Turgidly-Ululate was a tad unpleasantly surprised when the guy speaks his name. Better find out more about him.

"You can do magic? Cool. I've never met a degwalker who could do magic. Granted, I haven't hung out with the swampy types, if you know what I mean. Anyway, awesome. How good is the fire spell?"

"Pretty basic, just a jet of fire at close range.  but it could make the difference in a tight spot."

Armoth leans forward on the crate he is sitting on and looks at Flit

This is a time for practical questions, not what-if's. I'd rather not die today than get to pick how I do. Lokk and Turgidly-Ululate have got the right idea, we need to get on the same page.

I've got a silenced 9mm, zip tie restraints, an omnipick, and a tranq dart gun.

Armoth offers anyone who wants them 2 restraint ties, and casts his eyes over the assembled team.

Just so we're clear, I believe this is a covert operation. The intel wasn't perfect, but I imagine there would be a rather significant security detail. Running shootouts are to be avoided if possible, yeah? Quiet and clean is best.

Also, we all know how we're getting into the compound: that's easy, we're on our way now. Has anyone given any thought to how we're going to get back out? If they catch wind that they've been compromised, you can bet your ass this ship isn't leaving until they're damn sure we're not on it. Are we going to walk out the front door with the researcher slung over our shoulder and pray to God that the Kid has someone nearby to extract us? Maybe we can find some floor plans and improv something when we're inside, but we need at least the beginnings of a plan. Have you worked anything out between you? I saw nothing in the briefing files.

"Well, those explosives that Turgidly-Ululate has got would be useful if things go south and we need to get out.  They could be used to either blow a hole in the building to escape, or to cause a large distraction allowing us to get away.

Also, though we are arriving on this ship, I find it unlikely we will be leaving on it."

"Shit, man, this is the first time we've gotten together. It's like a high school science project here, we're flying by the seat of our pants. That's why I said we should scope out the building first - see escape routes, shit like that, you know. But yeah, glad at least someone brought the frickin' tranquilizers. I only brought the big boom and a civil engineering diploma I can use to wipe my ass with in this economic climate. But that's my problem, y'know. Anyway, my idea, which I think is reasonable, involves us creeping inside as quietly as possible - we enter on a ship or something, apparently - we find the mainframe, do shit to it, then set the big boom. Then we find the researcher, grab her or shoot her in the face, then set the big boom off - it's got a magical trigger. If I place it right, it can bring the building down. Maybe they'll think the researcher got buried in the rubble, even."

"As for what we've planned already... well, one guy punched one of the people in this room, Hawk, I think her name was. I think he's dead now. And there was this skank who hit on Lokk-Agar, she's not here now. But that's mostly the extent of our interpersonal communication."

Oh sure, if things go pear-shaped it's a good option to have. I just don't want it to be the first option...

Synch up comm-link. ((How is this done?)) Pull up PDA. Determine is the facility has any visible above-ground exterior walls, gun emplacements, and accessibility by road in the provided intel.

Listens to Turgidly-Ululate's story. So no plan, no communication? That has to end today, then. We are professionals, and to get the job done we're going to have to communicate and cooperate. The corporations have more money than God, they could outfit a small army of goons to throw at the problem if that's what they needed. We are who they turn to when the matter is a little more delicate. Do you realize how screwed you would've been if everyone showed up with heavy explosives and nobody had a lock-pick?

((Is Flit's med-scanner thing legit?))

"I wouldn't say screwed, exactly. The mainframe is in the basement, after all, so if you got shaped charges and... ooh... maybe access to the sewers, then you could... whoa."

"Guys, we should take a look at the sewer system around the place as well. Maybe we can also enter or exit through the basement and shit."

Hmm...maybe! We can't tell how far down we are, though. See if you can find sewer plans in public records, and look for any oddities around this location in the plans.

Turgidly-Ululate shrugs and tries to figure out how to work that whatchamacallit wonder-thing he got from the Kid.

Try to see if there are publicly-available sewer plans of the area, or any other subterranean structures one could navigate.

((Just in case anyone had forgotten, I'll repost the info we were given when we took the job))

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

"As for the plan, I say we split up.  One team goes to grab Alenya, one team downloads the data from the console, and the last team prepares the explosives to cause a distraction, allowing us to escape with our captive and the data.  We only really need one person to set up the explosives, so that leaves two pairs to handle the other tasks.  Any suggestions?
It wouldn't have to be explosives either.  When we get to the mainframe we may be able to hack into the alarm system in the building, start triggering sprinklers/alarms/etc.  Should have a similar effect."

((Thanks for that draco))

Armoth shakes his head Alarms, maybe. Causing a diversion on the way out could potentially be useful. I don't like the idea of splitting the team up that much, though. And I don't know that we should split up at all until we have at least some idea of where in the compound the target is. In a perfect world we could make her come to us. Sending one person off alone is a really good way to get them killed, I think.

Put sword to child's wrist then order the woman to tell me everything she knows. If she doesn't then cut off his hand and keep severing limbs until she does.

"What... What do you want to know? I don't know anything about Minoch secrets, only my brother does," she says, fighting back sobs.

((Is Flit's med-scanner thing legit?))

((Your diskmate is already linked to your allies, if that's what you're trying to do. And yes, Flit has a meditool.))

The facility has no walls or gun emplacements. The road on the south side connects to the building, into the garage and parking lot.

Turgidly-Ululate shrugs and tries to figure out how to work that whatchamacallit wonder-thing he got from the Kid.

Try to see if there are publicly-available sewer plans of the area, or any other subterranean structures one could navigate.

A sewer line runs near the port, under the road, but doesn't directly connect with the facility. There is the possibility that the Depths, the so-called underground city, have some tunnels that connect to the port, but you can't be sure.

"Guys, found something that might relate to what we need - this place called the Depths. If it exists, we might be able to escape through that."

Look up general info on the Depths.
