The Depths, or the Underground City, is a series of tunnel systems, abandoned bunkers, and sealed off sewer lines that make up a deep hive host to criminal organizations, gangs, and immigrants. Some entrances are well known, while others lay in secrecy. The systems themselves are not well documented, and the few maps that exist are contradictory.

Just then, you hear a ringing. It's the hostages comm link. "That's him..." she says weakly.

"Yeah, so the Depths are like this wretched hive of scum and villainy and whatnot - if we wanna escape the authorities and corporate security, that should be a good place. Still checkin', though."

There are three well known entrances. The Hive, an old bunker and scum filled tavern, Door Zero, a hotly contested elevator shaft, and Japes, an anarchist commune situated in a rather large bunker. There are several other unnamed entrances throughout the city, marked by explorers. There are two near the location of the target facility, but not directly adjacent.

A comm link's location can be scrambled by interfacing it with a device with the appropriate software. Though they might have tech that can de-scramble the location. Your diskmate has one such program.

"Greeting Corporal, your sister is currently my guest and if you'd like her to remain a guest rather then becoming a liability I suggest you do as I say very carefully.

I have information on the bombing but obviously I can not be seen to just meet with law enforcements, it's bad for my health.

So you will empty your bank account then come to a location I send you alone and unarmed, you will strip naked so I can confirm you have nothing hidden then you will place the bag on the ground without attempting to release your family, once this is done I will contact you with the information, you will take your family and leave. The money will be my payment for services rendered.

I am sorry to worry you and your family in this way but once you have heard the information I possess you will understand why I have to make certain nobody can ever connect this to me.

There is a long pause before the voice continues. "O-okay... I understand. Can I talk with Elena?"

Hold the comlink out on speaker setting for just a second then turn it back to normal.


"Say hello to your brother Elena, if he does as he's told very soon you'll all be going home and you can forget I ever existed.



You have your proof of life, alone Corporal or the next time you see her and her children they'll be mopping her up in a bucket.

I dislike violence but for the sake of my continued survival I will not hesitate. The stakes are to high to allow a little thing like my soul to get in the way."


Send him the location of the wearhouse, then gag the 3 of them and tie them all to the wall outside it, use my blade to sever the muscles in the arms of all 3, place a bag on the sisters back and inform her it has a bomb inside that only I know how to remove without it detonating, then conceal myself on a roof with a clear line of sight and wait for his arrival.

"Is that you, Bombur?" the woman says.

"Yes, Elena. I'll be there to get you soon, don't worry."

You do your actions and wait on the roof of a fishery across the street. After thirty or so minutes, a old green van arrives. It parks in the street in front of you. The driver exits the vehicle, wearing only his smallclothes, and walks cautiously into the light of the nearby streetpost. He has a briefcase, but he looks different than your target. He has green skin, instead of the orange skinned ramok in the picture.

"I have your money! Where are you!" he yells, obviously nervous.

Phone his comlink.

"I know what you look like corporal, if your not on the street in 10 seconds the youngest child dies, then the other, then your sister. Then I inform every news outlet in the city that I offered to help you stop the coming campaign that will cripple this city, and you refused, now get out here, drop your clothes and do a circle so I can see your following my orders.

Also just so your aware, the bag on your sister is a rather potent explosive device, if you attempt to disarm it, she dies, if you attempt to move her, she dies, if you attempt to tamper with the bag, she dies.

Don't push me corporal, now come out and send your squad away, I said alone. I don't trust them.
