What should we tell the mountainhome?

A - Long live the King, Baron up and join the mountainhome for good.
B - Long live our own ends, distance the Fort from the mountainhome for good.
If both votes are tied, RNG decides. A vote placed here will be strategically wasted.

As I remember it, its a creature composed of mud and dirt that grabs dwarves and hauls them into the water to drown.  Or is that a "grabber"?

Does it matter? Just bash it 'til it dies^^

Oi indeed. I like how this fortress seems doomed from the start but then every dwarf goes full awesome mode.
FFS stop replying before I can post.

Can you PM me a copy of this save? It seems my dwarf is enemy to some civ, I would love to submerge myself in the legends mode to find more stuff out.... I may even make a mini "History of..." series if one would be interested, either written(horrible grammar option) or video (horrible audiovisual quality)^^

Got it^^ Thank you^^ Now let's see what secrets have you been hiding....

Edit: Hiding is literal, I cannot find anything in the Legends. Majority of categories is nigh empty (one entry in "Site"? Really? Not even Mountainhomes?). Apart from commiting countless hours to try and discover everything through adventuring and engraving i can do nothing and I am not willing to take so much time to do this, sorry-.-

The perfect gem was made. Now, if I can only find a way to move the damn thing it'd be truly perfect.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Another miner died, this one froze to death while on ice duty. A real surprise that. Two rangers were drafted into mining duty to replace the loss. The miner being seen to by Muscle Medic Willsauce is surprisingly still alive, and after a year of treatment appears to possibly be capable of mining soon once again.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
The foundations of the Amber vault are nearing completion, hopefully before the goblin sieges begin - the requirements for sieges have all now been met; 93 soldiers prepare themselves for war.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
There have been so many attempted thefts now that the blood everywhere is starting to get out of hand. It's sort of like a marker for where the most enemy traffic ends up.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
ColdBones, welcome to the draft.

The chief medical wrestler recommends that each dwarf consume at least three liters of the blood of the slain per day. In addition to providing much-needed iron to the diet and (most importantly) helping to build muscle, this daily allotment of blood helps to keep our glorious trenches clean and blood gnat-free. Do your part, drink their blood!

THERE IS NO MOUNTAINHOME!  The Dwarves of Amberfortune shall rise and fall on our own!  Yeah, we're screwed.  On the other hand...

Got Blood?

I think it's just a product of my world gen parameters that you have to discover world events through the tales jotted down on engravings and such. As a result, there is not much for historians to wonder about in legends mode.

That would also make sense.  On the other hand, I prefer my NO MOUNTAINHOMES idea ^_^

The tunnel was dug right into the rodent tribe's camp. They immediately opened fire on the miner, who luckily managed a hasty retreat without sustaining any major wounds.

The rodents walked right into the cloud, the crashing pillar throwing them right into the traps; though perhaps a pit would have been more suitable. The survivors regrouped and all chances of attempting another capture was dashed when they started advancing towards the borehole.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Seeing this threat, regrettably the snarling keys led by Captain Ruhn, Captain Willsauce and Commander Goden had to engage them in combat and consequently destroyed them entirely.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
These two however have been captured. Until I have any good idea on what to do with them, they will be held under Amberfotune protection. I am willing to listen to any suggestions.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Casualties appear limited to Iteb who sustained some debilitating wounds while surrounded by rodents. Miner Kib's wounds have also become infected after a year of intensive care, and so it is feared that alongside Kib, Iteb too will succumb to some baleful illness and die.

We have a male and a female, right?  I propose we make a pit for them to live in, toss them in there (making DAMN sure that it won't muck up our own activities) and let them repopulate.  The idea of rat-man thrall-slaves amuses me.  Especially after what their alternate-universe selves did to our alternate-universe selves...

Send Kib out to the wilderness, to purge himself of his disease or die trying, and focus our medic's efforts on the one who might come through intact with a little care (namely Iteb).

If you can keep the rodent-men tame enough, their progeny will remain tamed automatically.  It's a valid military tactic called "conscription of the locals"

I've never successfully had the option to tame [blank]man creatures.  They just sit in their cages in my animal stockpile, but don't show up on my animals screen under the z-menu.  Is there some other way to do that?
