Welp, since my NPC ally is here, not me, I guess I can't affect things here. I'll just wait for the meeting to conclude and us to get back to 'normal' actions.
So I assume 'What happens now' is you either keep squabling amongst yourselves, or Mastah posts the NPC actions and the results, and the King comes in to address you all.

The wording of the battle's description made it sound like they were temporarily incapacitated rather than killed/driven mad for good.
